I had some of the angel hair pasta with sundried tomatoes, artichokes, and mushrooms that I cooked for DD's dinner .... still hungry, though. Will probably have some leftover 4th of July macaroni salad next! How about you?

I think hubby mentioned cooking up some tilapia tonight. It's nice having him on summer break. It's like having a stay at home husband!

1 teaspoon active dry yeast, 3/4c warm water, 2c all-purpose flour, 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, 3 tablespoons olive oil.
combine yeast and warm water in small bowl-sit for 10 minutes. add flour to bowl of an electric mixer with paddle attachment, sprinkle in salt, turn mixer on low, slowly pour in olive oil, slowly pour in yeast/water mixture, stop mixing when everything comes together. transfer to a lightly oiled bowl and cover w/plastic wrap. allow dough to rise 1 hour before using. can be store in fridge for several days before using.
seriously...it is the best i have tried and so easy!

i don't know=( i bought chicken to make earlier, but it was next to my laptop in the car and ended up leaking through the packaging & the 2 plastic bags it was in and onto the laptop- so now i'm mad at the chicken! i feel the need to punish it by not cooking it for dinner =D maybe i'll throw a ham stake on the grill, that's super quick & easy!

It is way to hot to cook around here right now, so I bought one of those whole chickens from the grocery store and brought it home to make chicken wraps. I figure I'll save the carcass to make chicken stock so it's a double whammy, but I don't have to turn on the stove at all today.

@artbee: nice, I've been there a few times. Did you get the King Kamehameha sampler? That was really yummy.

We're trying a little drive in place close to our hotel. It's supposed to be really good!

@Andrea: Byron's Drive In. It's right next to our hotel.
Any recommendations for places to eat??
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@Sweet T: I don't know that one! My favorite casual places were Zippy's (best chili), L&L's (chicken katsu and loco moco) and Ono's (authentic Hawaiian food). For a fancy dinner, Alan Wong's. I haven't been back home in forever so I am a bit out of touch but those should all still be good!

We've seen L&L's and Zippy's. I don't think we've seen Ono's yet but I definitely want to find it! I'm all for trying new food!

@Andrea: no. But we pretty much had our own sampler because he ordered so much.
