I'm making this Red Velvet Trifle and outsourcing the rest of the desserts for my holidy party. Th recipe requires little baking skills, but is sure to look pretty on the buffet table.

We do my husband's family cookie recipes, they've been passed down from his grandmother. They're very nut heavy, but he likes them, so I go with it.
I don't bake anything.

I just saw these in my Feedly the other day and I want to make them badly.

I always make white trash mix. I think this year I am going to make peppermint bark and give that out to people to mix it up. I got a cookie press like 4 Christmas's ago and haven't used it yet, so I am going to break it out this year. I think LO will like to help make them and decorate with sprinkles. Chocolate covered pretzels too, if I have time and energy.

I'm going to try Greek cookies this year (Russian tea cakes, Mexican wedding, etc). I also want to do simple sugar sprinkle cookies and a pistachio white chocolate cookie I saw on Pinterest. Maybe some mocha frosted brownies too!

Nanaimo bars.... my best friend from childhood was Canadian and her mom would make them for every Christmas! Delish.

Some old family recipes! Frosted butter cookies, maple fudge, pumpkin cookies, and I want to try the egg and chard pie from Manger.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: definitely pretty on a dessert table!
@BananaPancakes: I'm normally not a huge nut fan, but that combination sounds delicious!
@yin: good job finding allergy friendly recipes! I would be curious to see the chocolate chip recipe.
@Smurfette: I looove peppermint bark!
@looch: you don't bake!? Who makes the cookies then, your DH?
@fancyfunction: Greek cookies?
@DesertDreams88: never heard of those, they sound delicious!
@Greentea: do you have a link to the maple fudge? I love maple flavor but rarely use it, other than just maple syrup.

For thanksgiving I'm in charge of a fruit salad. I think I'm going to do the creamy grape salad. it's always a hit.
For Christmas baking I think I'm stealing @Blackbird idea of doing cinnamon rolls instead of a cookie tin like I've done the past few years! Who doesn't love yummy gooey cinnamon rolls

Crisco holiday treasure cookies are amaaaaazing but they are SO MUCH FUCKING WORK. There. I said it. Delicious. Work. Caramels are also amazing. BUT SO MUCH WORK.
This year, I'm making dulce de leche nutella cookies FOR SURE. Also cinnamon rolls for ALL THE PEOPLE. My mom's
@BananaPancakes: everything from HBH is AMAZING. I love her stuff so much.

@blackbird: I made cinnamon rolls this past weekend and they are always such a crowd pleaser! I think I'm going to make more this weekend.
Also, I never heard of HBH until @BananaPancakes: just linked to it. Her site is so beautiful and I've seen a ton of things I want to try!

@blackbird: I don't bake, like ever, so I haven't made anything from there yet. But I have pinned practically everything. I just need someone to bake it all for me.

@lamariniere: They are! And EVERYONE gets cookies and goodies and cinnamon rolls are just a nice breakfast thing. And not a lot of people make their own yeast breads nowadays (at least, my friends don't! So they are psyched). HBH is coming out with a cookbook...her stuff is awesome. But her recipes are often FAR more complicated than they need to be. I often pare them down significantly. Try the greek orzo chicken dish. It's one of our faves!
@BananaPancakes: you mustttttttttttt

I found a recipe for pecan pie bark on Pinterest that we are going to do for Thanksgiving. 4 ingredients and my toddler should be able to help! I also want to make cupcakes with turkeys on top using mini vanilla wafers for faces and candy corn for the feathers. Not sure yet about Christmas baking. Obviously we are all about the easy over here.

I've made these mini loafs the last few years because people are obsessed with them:
http://www.mommyskitchen.net/2008/12/holiday-eggnog-bread-one-of-my-favorite.html
I make my own glaze - its just powdered sugar thinned with rum until its a thick frosting consistency and I let it harden overnight. It really tastes like a spiked eggnog that way.

I want to bake loaves of bread (some kind of thick, heavy loaf like zucchini, fig and date, etc) and make homemade marmalade to give out as gifts. Anyone have any great loaf recipes??

Pumpkin cinnamon rolls and cranberry scones for Thanksgiving morning! I'm making them the day before because we are flying, then I will glaze in the morning at my cousin's house
