Our honeymoon to Costa Rica was our best trip. It was an adventure tour--we visited 5 cities, went horseback riding, did the hot springs, white water rafting, ziplining, rock climbing, slept in the rainforest, went to a carnival, learned how to make corn tortillas, picked coffee beans, and learned how to make chocolate from cacao. It was amazing!

I want to travel more. As it is we go to NY every year but now it's starting to feel so obligatory that I don't even enjoy it. I would rather go to NY every other year and travel someplace differently on the off years.

@Arden: Istanbul is FABULOUS. Love it.

Hmm...for me it's tough... I'm going to go with Paris though, because that's where we got engaged.

Ooh, so many trips to choose from, it's impossible to pick just one! Agree with @mrbee on Barcelona - Gaudi is Dr Seuss on crack and is fascinating! Also agree with @Arden on Turkey - Istanbul is a remarkable place and truly a magnificent cultural experience. And agree with @mrspen in that New Zealand is quite possibly the most perfect place on earth.

Aside from those, I'd have to say my trip to Russia was pretty amazing - visiting all the former Soviet sites in Moscow and seeing the beauty that is St Petersburg was spectacular. But I'd also rate China as one of my favourite trips. Not only is it where I met DH (same small group tour), but it's also the craziest, most chaotic, mind boggling place - and I loved it! We travelled from Beijing to Hong Kong over the course of 3 weeks and each place was more fascinating than the last. Crazy, but awesome.

@Ree723: isn't it relatively inexpensive to fly to NZ for you? Also, is it drastically different from Aus?

I studied abroad for a summer in Barcelona!! It will always have a special place in my heart.

My best trip was probably Japan with DH on our honeymoon. I think HE made the trips awesome, not necessarily the locations. I did also enjoy the time I spent in Shanghai for 6-months... it's constantly changing and so progressive. Love it there!

@Mrs. Pen: It's not terribly expensive to fly to NZ from here - when the airlines are having a good sale, we can fly for about $400 return to Christchurch (slightly more to Auckland or Wellington). Aus and NZ are completely different, like chalk and cheese! I've only done the South Island so I can't comment on the north, but the south reminded me of Europe with its lush green hills and snow capped mountains. Australia is hot, dry, and dusty with some beautiful beaches, but no where near the lush vegetation you find in NZ. I'd take NZ over Australia in a second!

Probably Bora Bora or Belize. My husband still begs me to move to Belize with him like everyday.

But I also loved Minnesota, the hotel was amazing, the shopping was amazing and the Minnesota state fair was great.

Any trip I take though I love, as long as my in laws don't invite themselves.

I went to the Galapagos with my parents when they came to visit me in Ecuador, and that was pretty amazing. I have also spent a lot of time backpacking through South America, and there is nothing that I do not love about the entire continent. I also visited the Copan Mayan ruins when I liven in Honduras 12 years ago, which was pretty neat, too!!

Like @BoogieBea my ultimate dream would be to buy a big ranch/hacienda, only it would be in the highlands of Ecuador

My trip right after the Bar exam was my favorite so far! I spent three weeks in France and Italy with a variety of different travel partners for different portions of the trip. It was my first time in Europe, and I loved every single day. DH and I were also busy falling in love but were on separate trips, so we wrote these long emails every day. I printed them all off, and they make my heart happy! It was the trip that we both realized this was the real deal for us, even though we weren't actually traveling together.
Plus, who can enough of Italian food and wine??

My favorite trip is my only trip really! I've seen a lot of the US as a kid but I haven't travelled much as an adult. We went to Maui for our honeymoon and it was so special bc we hadn't traveled together before. It was so different from anything I've seen and is the only time I wasn't budget concious when doing something, so it was totally stress free.

Our honeymoon in Fethiye, Turkey. We stayed at a gorgeous location, the food was yummy, wine included, private beach, awesome facilities, cultural excursions not too far away. I'm looking forward to return when LO is old enough.

Israel trip when I was 16. I went for 6 1/2 weeks with a youth group

Italy last year! We had the BEST food.

Paris and London with DH (then boyfriend) back in 2006... and where he proposed under the Eiffel Tower! It was so incredibly romantic there. Also loved London and got to visit one of my oldest friends who lives there. I want to go back to Paris SO badly, but DH keeps saying that we need to go to new places that we haven't been to! Grrr...

My BFF and I spent about 5 months (after undergrad, before grad school) travelling through SE Asia and India. We spent time in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Bali, India and Cambodia. That was pretty awesome and I think back on it almost daily.

We spent 2 weeks in vietnam that were just awesome. But My favorite would have to be the spur of the moment trip we took to Paris,. We blew off our IUI and really fell in love All over again...and naturally conceived DD after a year of trying and fertility treatments.
