This spectacular 185-acre private and gated Estate is located in Magnolia, Texas, approximately 40 miles northwest of Houston. Meticulously developed, this estate boasts the private 25-acre Emerald Lake, a “world class” bass lake with 10 islands, a 9-acre Japanese garden, a 7-acre botanical garden with over 5,000 azaleas. Additional improvements include the Estate house, guesthouse, boathouse, and gazebos, 21 bridges in all shapes and sizes and miles of walking trails! In addition, there is private helipad access located on the lake and a tropical sandy beach.
Plus there's a pretty high production video highlighting all the great things you get with your own private lake http://vimeo.com/79767761
The current owner described it as comfortable, laid back living

I prefer the first, but with the waterfront of the second one

@Cherrybee: someone has definitely been murdered at some point in that house. That garage looks like a torture chamber.

@kiddosc: what do people DO that they can afford a house like that?!?!

@Mrs.Someone: Love that first one. There is hardly anything modern around here, unfortunately!

Wow - either you ladies have really rich neighbors or you have bigger zip codes than I do. My zip is about a square mile. There's not much on the market now but this is the top.
$939,000

Bathrooms:3.5 baths
Single Family:3415 sq ft
Nothing remarkable about the house. Working class neighborhood in the SF Bay Area.

A four bedroom, three bathroom, 3892 sq ft home on the street we just moved from and are (hopefully!) going to rent a townhouse on (seeing it in a couple days!) is going for $3,388,000. I know a house a couple blocks away went for like $13 mil last year! Luckily there are also condos in the neighborhood...much more our budget, lol.

This is just up the street from us, $400,000 4bed, 3bath. The highest listing is actually land.
