I just had a minor surgery so I'm def thinking about pain! It's not even close to the worse pain I've ever been in.... but it's still annoying.
Mine would be a toss up between labor (before the epidural of course) and migraines. I'm hoping this surgery will make is so I don't have the migraines anymore.... but I will say I'm hoping to experience labor again

Definitely when my epidural wore off during transition! I was begging them to put me under and cut the baby out.

@Rubies: My wisdom teeth got infected, which was way worse then the actual getting them pulled. But I've had 26 teeth pulled... so I like to think I'm experienced with that.

@tina: That was one of my biggest fears! Hope the rest of your labor went super fast (although I know when you're in the middle of it, labor can't go fast enough!)

@artbee: I ended up pushing for 3 hours but it felt like 20 minutes! Once they got the vacuum inside and onto his head he slipped out in 3 pushes, which was awesome. It sucked, but I can wear it as a badge of honor and HONESTLY say "if I survived through that, I can survive through anything!"

Pushing during labor...I pushed for just over an hour & a half naturally & yes, it hurt but it was so so worth it

A tie between contractions (had a c-section) and the pain before I had an emergency surgery for my gall bladder. Both hurt so bad it made me want to punch everyone, but I was in pain longer with the contractions.

@MsMamaBear: I think contractions are the worst because you know that even though the pain will end soon, it will start again with regularity! When I was in transition the contractions were practically on top of each other, so as soon as I got some relief, I'd start saying "oh no oh no it's going to start again!"

Breastfeeding in the beginning was the worst pain I have ever felt. Between her horrible latch at first, cracked, bleeding, thrush, and knowing I had to go through it all again in 2 hours... awful. It didn't even compare to the natural / medication free birth.

I think my migraines are the worst pain I've ever felt. The breastfeeding pain was awful, but it was for my little one, so I just pushed through it like it didn't matter (even though tears rolled down my cheeks with every feed, I was still able to smile at my little one).

@autumnlove: oh my GOD!!!!!! Those C-section anesthesia stories really really scare me. My MIL said that she was put under general anesthesia, but was half-awake and could feel everything but couldn't say anything to let them know, AND that she had a lot of trouble breathing.

Labor, hands down!
A distant second was kilometer 38 -42 in the marathon I ran to qualify for Boston. I was in a world of hurt but had to keep my pace if I was going to stay under the qualifying time. There were tears of joy after I crossed the line!

Well I haven't experienced labor yet so that's not on my list! So far for me the most painful thing for me is when I had a gallbladder attack, I had quite a few but one really stuck out to me, I had to go to the emergency room and I got it removed a few days later. Not a fun experience.

Cluster headaches - WAY worse than my severe migraines. It's one reason why I'm not scared of at least trying natural childbirth. Every person who has been through both has gone "what? No, these are way worse than childbirth." I want to make the comparison myself.

@Boogs: I only lost 2 teeth by myself and my mouth was so small I had to get adult teeth pulled too. I didn't mind it - I always got a milkshake after and the toothfairy (my Grandma ) gave me $20 per tooth. I just hope lo takes after her dad when it comes to teeth.

This is going to sound gross... I had surgery for an ingrown toenail. The surgery itself didn't hurt, but the shot an anesthesia did. It felt like my foot was on fire. I have a good pain tolerance, but that had me in tears.

@Leialou: omg I had that too, in college!! The infection before the surgery was TORTURE... even drops of water from the shower falling on my foot made me scream in pain. The shot was incredibly painful.

mine was gallstone attacks....way worse than labor or c-section (but i did have the most powerful epidural in history. i was still numb for a day or two afterward).

right now, i want to say the worst pain i've ever felt was doing the hsg last year. felt like they put a knife up me and was twisting it.
