@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: shoot I forgot to look at the % but I was mostly midland too! Funny because we are both midatlantic/northeast bees!

I got midland. Have you done this NY Times one? It's been super accurate for everyone I know. It pegged me as being from my actual hometown! It gives you the three most similar cities for your accent.

@MrsSCB: yea that one gave me the city I just moved from after living in for 5 years

100% midland here too.
@MrsSCB: That one gave me my hometown also.

Both quizzes gave me 80+% Mid-Land, but I'm a native southwesterner. I get a lot of it from growing up around my Chicagoan grandmother.

I got the Northeast - it says NYC, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Not surprising!

@MrsSCB: your quiz was very interesting. My accent did not pinpoint the city I was raised or where I currently live, but still pegs me on the East Coast. Based on the answers I have strong influences from where my mom was raised, which happens to also be where I attended college.

89% "North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
88% Midland
...I'm Canadian

Your quiz says Midland. I like the NY Times one because according to my FB timeline it assumed correctly about accents and locations. I got NYC-Jersey City-Yonkers.

It says i have a midland/no accent, but I must have a slight one sometimes....because every once in awhile, someone will comment that I must not be from around here.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I also apparently have been influenced by my dad -- my first two cities were my hometown and the city next to it, but the third was where my dad is from, which is in a different region altogether. Pretty crazy!

Inland North...I'm from Rochester originally, so it's pretty close.

Apparently I have a Boston accent, which is perfect, since I'm from the Boston suburbs. It's interesting though, b/c nobody would peg me as having a typical Boston accent. I pronounce my r's in the middle of words and I don't add them to the ends of random words like people do with real Boston accents. Apparently my vowels and pronunciation of other words must still be the giveaway!

88% Midland!
@MrsSCB: Yours said I was from Cali, but I live in Florida. I was a military kid so who knows.
