I was on the mini pill but it was wreaking havoc on my body. So I'm just tracking my cycle and using P&P now. If we don't decide to try again, we will do something a little more reliable.
What BC are you on? Are you happy with it?

P&P....but we might be TTC in the next couple of months so its not a huge risk for us!

@petunia354: same, but I would like to wait a few more months

PoM. So bummed my period already came back at 3 months PP despite EBF. So, now I'm just trying to track my cycle to make sure there are no whoopsie babies!

I got Mirena about a month ago. So far so good. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews, but it's the best option for us for the next year or two until we decide whether we want #3.

My birth control is having 3 kids! Ha but in all seriousness we have to figure something out. I have no interest in going back on birth control pills or an IUD as my OB suggests. I'm trying to convince my husband to do something because I feel like my body has done enough.

@Canoli: I am with you! When we are done done done I expect my husband to get a vasectomy.

Well between kids we used pull n pray, but I was also breastfeeding, didn't get my cycles back until 10-11 months pp, and TTC/got pregnant again within 2 months of them returning. After #3 is born, my husband will get a vasectomy. I used BC pills before babies and I really don't want to go back on them.

@winniebee: yes, this is what I'm trying to tell him. He knew one person ONE person who had some complications and is freaked out. I said really I've had an emergency c section, vbac, and then another c section so I really have no sympathy. Get over it husband! He says he will do his research so I may be able to win him over!

Mirena. I've been happy with it and it's the right option until we decide for sure on a second.

@Canoli: not to mention probably the many years you were already on BC!

I liked my copper IUD, I would probably get it again. Options seem so limited, as I dislike the artificial hormones in pills (migraines). Also, not fair that there are so many other IUD options not available here in the US. Get on it FDA!

I'm currently tracking my cycle and doing P&P. But it would be terrible if we ended up pregnant so I feel "safe" with what we are doing. My husband is super against a vasectomy but I would like him to get one eventually. Or I'm really hoping this works out http://www.cosmopolitan.com/sex-love/news/a55978/vasalgel-male-birth-control-2018/

I want DH to get a vasectomy but instead I have an IUD. So far Mirena has been ok.
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
@winniebee: IUD. And still bleeding, and curious if it actually caused a period, or just had some heavier bleeding for a few days. It's been a little every day and it's been 5 weeks now, so basically I've been bleeding daily since I had the baby 3 1/2 months ago. But they say it gets better. I don't have cramps, it doesn't hurt. I don't have to remember any pills. I'm not having mood swings or anything.

Mirena. I'm pretty happy with it. No periods is amazing. I wonder if the hormones affect my mood. Lack of exercise and stress could be affecting my mood though, too...

I'm getting a Mirena in November... and the plan is for my DH to get a vasectomy.

Condoms. Blech. I hate them but I refuse to go back on the pill or get an iud. Husband is no good about pulling out so condoms it is. Once we decide for sure about having another or not, he will get snipped.

Natural family planning. Track my cycle and skip DTD on days when we potentially could make a baby.

My husband had a vasectomy a short time after our second daughter was born. We decided on that because I had carried the babies and had two c-sections, so it was his time to have some fun

Condoms until he gets the snip. I refuse to go on hormonal birth control and I don't want an IUD.

Breastfeeding and the mini pill. We may switch to something more reliable when I get my period back

I have a Skyla and love not ever having to think about it. DH will be getting snipped, but now he's on a three year clock to get that done... tick, tick, tick
@pastemoo: That happened to me when I got my Mirena after #1 and my Skyla after #2. After three months of random bleeding with my Mirena I was ready to go back in and have it taken out, but then it magically stopped and was the best thing ever. I hope it gets better for you soon!

Hahaha this one cracks me up! Right now we use the pull out method. lol I honestly feel safe with it we used it for 11 years successfully and then got pregnant our second month of ttc. I've never been on birth control in my life, but once I finish losing this baby weight I plan to give the mirena a go. I'm trying to give my husband time to adjust to the idea that were one and dOne, because for him, me going on birth control means its final.

Currently pregnant, but I was loosely tracking except it wasn't very regular and I was lazy and therefore the surprise pregnancy!
persimmon / 1188 posts
At the moment, pregnancy but I'm unsure about after. Very loose natural family planning did work for us while avoiding then trying but my husband definitely doesn't want more kids so I'm inclined to encourage him to do somethin more responsible next year!

My husband had a vasectomy when #2 was 4 months.
@Canoli: For what it's worth, it was an in-office procedure, it took 15 minutes, they gave him a mild sedative for anxiety (and even that was optional) and sent him home with an ice pack and some Advil. It was a total nothing procedure, forget the 2 c sections this was less invasive even than my egg retrieval/transfer.

@erinbaderin: I know. This is what I'm trying to tell him. It's no big deal!!!!!!!!

Right now condoms. I was on the mini-pill, but it has been causing constant on-and-off bleeding. Like, 6 days of period, 5 days off, five days of period, 4 days off. I plan to go back on the regular pill when I stop breastfeeding, in 4-5 months. I have always liked the regular pill, it really improves my PMS symptoms, and I liked the mini-pill fine the first time I took it, between pregnancies.
