I am half German/Irish and half Japanese. Basically my dad's ancestors came to America from Ireland during the Great Famine about 150 years ago. Then he met my mom while he was visiting Japan.
My dad's ethnicity got diluted down over those 150 years or so, so I've mostly identified with my mom's side of the family.
What's the ethnicity of your LOs?

@mrbee: we have similar ethnicities! My dad is Japanese and my mom is English/Irish/German
My LO is therefore 1/4 Japanese, 1/4 WASP, 1/4 Hispanic (Spanish & Puerto Rican) and 1/4 Iranian

Me: Fully Irish on my mom's side, and probaby a mix on my dad's but nothings certain in the mix expect Irish.
DH: Mix of English, Dutch, Scadinavian, and French.
So our children will be generic Northwestern European.

DH couldn't care less about his background. He doesn't know and doesn't care. I hope to pass down some of my grandparents' culture and traditions to my "white" children (despite DH's eyerolls).

I'm mostly Italian and Polish, with some German, Austrian, Slovenian and Dutch thrown in. DH is mostly English and Irish, with German, French, Scottish, and Scandinavian. Our LO will be a European Heinz 57!

I know nothing about my dad's side. His mom was adopted and his dad passed before I was born. On my mom's side I'm Irish, Czech and Polish. My great grandma was fresh off the boat Irish and my great grandpa was first generation Czech-American and both my grandmother's parents were straight from Poland.

I'm almost half German, about a quarter Irish, and about a quarter Native American. I use "almost" and "about" because I think there's a tiny bit more mixed in there, but very small amounts.

My dad is 100% Greek (first generation). My mom is straight up WASP. Her ancestry is a mix of German/Scottish/Dutch but we have a direct ancestor who signed the Declaration of Independence so we've been here a long time!

I'm your typical white American mix of English, French, German, and various unknown/unsure European. My mom’s family has been here since before the Revolution and my dad’s nearly as long, so really, we’re just “American” at this point, for whatever that means!
DH is ½ Mexican and ½ German.

Even though my Grandma was very Portuguese and moved here from Portugal, I don't identify with anything other than "American."

I come from a long line of people that didn't have their babies in own birth country.
I was born in the states, my dad was born in Ecuador, his mom was born in Holland, his dad's dad was Italian and his mom was Spanish. However....his 23and Me came back 41% British.
My mom is Spanish and Italian.
It's a lot easier to say American.
DH is Canadian. (French & English)

I am a melting pot of Western European...I mostly identify with German because most of the last names in my family are German names, but there is also some English, Swedish, and Irish.
DH definitely identifies with German as well, but he also has some Irish/English ancestry.
