I'm Korean-American and I grew up hating Korean food! The only Korean food I would eat growing up was omurice, which is basically just fried rice in an omelet. Korean food is a lot of soups, stews, and spicy stuff, and I'm not a big soup person and I have always had no tolerance level for spice. (Yes, it's true, I don't eat kimchee)

Now that I'm an adult, I really love some Korean food dishes, but it's still not my absolute favorite ethnic cuisine. But while pregnant with my second, I had crazy cravings for bibimbap (mixed rice bowl with veggies) and now it's probably THE favorite food of both my kids. They both LOVE Korean food.

I still can't stand dduk, though! That's what Koreans eat for dessert, when they DO eat dessert, other than fruit. It's a sticky, thick sweet rice cake and there are many forms... I pretty much don't like any of them!
