I have been buying stride rites and they seem comfortable and last as long as they fit
Just curious - if you buy shoes on line, how do you know the size? A big reason I buy stride rite is they will measure and I can buy right then and there. Maybe not the cheapest option but is the easiest for me!

@MrsLonghorn: They are having a BOGO 40% off sale at Stride Rite now and the closed toe sandals are included in the sale.

@T.H.O.U.: I know they can be crazy $$, but I love them for several reasons. We can wear them for dress up (church) and they are fine for play also. They wipe down easy and are super durable. DD always gets a ton of longevity out of hers. She has probably have 5-6 pairs by now!

@hellobear: @matador84: I may try them. I'm frustrated because my five-year-old is now a size 13 or a one and now those are a little girl sizes. So a lot of the ballet flats are just flat stay on as good as the ones with the strap like the maryjane's. Plus she is ruining every pair of shoes I buy her. I need something that can withstand playing on the driveway and look good when we go out

@T.H.O.U.: I would say if the cost isn't a bother to you, get a pair and try them! They really do hold up so well. I have also heard of Mini Melissa Buy, Sell, Trades on FB so maybe you'll have some luck there if you don't want to pay full price for a first pair to try.
We have had these in the toddler version with the t-strap and loved so much. Haven't tried the flats yet, but would love to know how they are for older girls! http://www.zappos.com/p/mini-melissa-mel-campana-zigzag-little-kid-gold-glitter/product/8630201/color/20705

I find myself loyal to certain brands that I know are comfy - hard to find for chunky little feet!
Tretorn and Crocs for rainboots
I'm really loving her new K-Swiss sneakers. They're soft and flexible. I used to love Vans, but the comfort seems to be a hit or miss with all the different material combinations. Her current pair of Vans are so rigid.

I love Jack and Lily. They hold up really well and are.really afforable if bought through Zulily or Gilt. They do run huge though. All of their shoes I have had look fantastic after months of daily use.
They also have a wide toe box and are super comfortable. Sadly we only.have 2 sizes left until she grows out of their largest size.
I've had fairly good luck with Stride Rite and SKR but they have both worn a lot more quickly than Jack and Lily.

Natives for summer, period. She wore them ALL last summer and I will be buying new ones in her size this summer.
Nikes and New Balance I've loved for sneakers.

SKR, Saltwater Sandals, and Keds. I have to buy shoes that run wide or come in wide sizes. I'm also really picky and like shoes that are solid color or very plain.

@T.H.O.U.: they hold their value so you can always sell them once she's outgrown them.
