I'd love to eat two meals a day. Brunch and then dinner.
I know you're supposed to eat 5 small meals and I've done that before... I just have never enjoyed it.
What's your ideal number of meals a day?

Also two. My ideal would be a lovely breakfast and then a big meal at like two or three. Other than that I'd have a handful of roasted almonds here and there. Kids really make you change everything!

Oh my, I'm a cow! At least 5, which include breakfast, lunch and dinner plus morning and afternoon snack. I can sometimes make it without a morning snack, but will have a meltdown before dinner if I don't have an afternoon snack.

@lamariniere: you are a Hobbit! We always joke that our youngest daughter is a hobbit. She loves elevensies!

I'd love to be able to subsist on just 1 per day! Think about all the time you'd get back! However in reality we do 2 or 3 depending on the day.

Two as well. Before the BFP requiring me to eat every hours to avoid the blech--- weekends were always awesome because we just ate twice. Big late breakfast and early dinner.

The more the merrier! If its a well prepared meal than probably 3 is lots but if its just throwing things together than probably5 is good!

3 meals plus 2 snacks since I became pregnant fall 2011. I went from pregnant to EBF right back to pregnant so I haven't gone back to a 2 meal a day routine. We used to do the late breakfast early dinner before kids though...

3-5. If 3, then I definitely need snacks. But I don't like to eat big meals. I don't know how you guys could do two!

I wish we didn't have to eat to survive!
I think 3 small meals + 2 snacks is good.

5-6. I feel so much better when I eat smaller, more frequent meals. It keeps my blood sugar from dropping too low.

3 meals and two snacks.
Breakfast is undeniably the most important meal of the day!

@sunny: same- I wish we could just eat one meal a day and be satiated and nourished.
I always have a hearty breakfast, a very light morning snack, a medium size lunch, and small afternoon snack and a good sized dinner. A few times a week I have an after dinner treat.

I just read this blog post last night and I thought it was kind of relevant.
There is a new product that is currently being developed as a meal replacement substitute and this guy blogged about his experience in using it for 2 weeks with no other food.
