We mainly shop at Tops (same family as Martin's & Giant) and Dashs. We have Wegmans but only go there for specific items. Too expensive for day to day groceries. And desserts; always desserts from Wegmans.

Giant, Acme, Shoprite and Wegmans. Love Wegmans but I mostly go to Giant because Wegmans is always PACKED with people. More so than any other grocery store on a busy day

In town we have a Kroger, Walmart, and a local chain.

The next town over has a Kroger, publix, Food Lion, and a Piggly Wiggly. Plus WM.

The town in the other direction has a Walmart and an Ingles.

I'm not sure which are local v. national - the chainstores I can walk to are C-Town, Key Foods, Met, and Union Market.

We usually shop at the neighborhood co-op or Whole Foods, though.

@Mrs. Sketchbook: Ingles is my favorite grocery store to go to when we are down south.

It's so weird that I have never heard of so many of these!

And weird that no one has said mine... I guess they're a super local chain!

In the city I live in we only have one grocery store, Safeway. If we go "into town" they have Fred Meyers (a Kroger company), Albertsons, and Winco, I only grocery shop at Safeway and our local produce stand for fruit and veggies though.

Publix is everywhere. We also have Winn Dixie and Albertsons, but those chains consolidate stores all the time. There are few Hispanic grocers. I have shopped at a few when I am in a pinch for OJ or something, but the prices are outrageous. The imported Latin brands are the reasons people shop at these grocers I am told.

@locavore_mama: funny, I always spend more money at Tops, hands down.

We shop at Wegmans and our local co-op

Giant, or if we feel like making the drive and dealing with the crowds we'll go to Wegmans. There's also a Weis here, but I usually go to Giant.

@Littlebit: DH and I miss Martins. I still rock the Ukrops shopping bags all the time.

We have terrible grocery stores. Kroger, Harris Teeter, and Farm Fresh. I hate them all.

I mainly shop at Safeway because it's closest to my house, but our local chains are Giant and Mars.

    @chopsuey: @smurfette: I miss Publix! I'm from Florida.

I heart Safeway! In our old town we used to go to Albertson's and Fred Meyer sometimes but they're pretty expensive so we tried not to go often.

Just Publix... Publix everywhere! It's the king in Florida.

I liked Kroger better though when I lived in Kroger-land.

I can walk to Food Lion for quick things, and I'll occasionally go to Farm Fresh or Harris Teeter to pick something up. But, I actually do all of my shopping at Walmart.

I have never heard of ANY OF THESE (except for the So Cal ones because I lived there for college). Some of them have the strangest names!

We have Fred Meyer, Albertson's, and Safeway close by. We do all of our shopping at Fred Meyer, TJ's, and Costco.

  35. hellocupcake

Food4Less ( Kroger owned, DH is a manager there so we try to shop there as much as possible), Stater Bros. is the closest grocery chain but we prefer a market that's right down the street.

Pathmark! I don't think anyone has mentioned that one yet. It's not my favorite, but we get our staples there because they're cheaper and then get produce at Whole Foods.

@SeptMomma12: Yeaa! I know both. Finally we got some more Northeast people in the house!
