My LO loves to play with tags. She finds all the tags on her toys and plays with them instead of the actual toy.

My son loves holding a toothbrush. He goes on walks in his stroller holding his toothbrush. My husband even made a little handle for it like a sword.

An old iPod. She thinks it's her phone and walks around holding it to her ear.

charlie used to love a potato masher and whisk when he was around 7 months.
he's 26 months now and his favorite nontoy is probably a spray bottle!

LO's favourite non-toy toy is her bib (or socks!) - she just likes to chew on it until it's a wet, slobbering mess.

Paper, she's obsessed with paper. She has started to pull pots and pans out and bang on them but I think paper still wins.

Love hearing all of these free toy ideas!
@Maysprout: My LO loves paper too, but I try to keep her away from it because I'm afraid of paper cuts in her mouth. Since everytihng still goes in her mouth.

Coasters! LM loves to stack them up and put them back into the stand. She also loves paper of any kind, especially tissue paper and rips them into tiny little pieces.

@artbee: have you seen the Taggies blankets and toys? It's a tag-lovin baby's dream!

@artbee: I think she's probably eaten some paper. Luckily no paper cuts so far. I try to keep it out of her mouth but both me and hubby have a lot of paper around when we do work, and then when she sits on the potty she just makes grabs for the TP. She's a silly baby. But paper ends up in her hands a lot and she tries to put it in her mouth so I'm sure she's eaten some, fiber diet.

@Mrs. Yoyo: No, I'll have to look that up! We've joked about making a book of tags, but I guess somebody has beat me to it.

Our swiffer mop. He carries that thing everywhere, even walking up and down the sidewalk. He even insisted on carrying it to the supermarket the other day. I had to explain to the store clerk that we brought it into the store, not stealing it!

@banana: my son loves our swiffer duster, who knew! He walks around "cleaning."

@looch: hahaha! My son cleans too. It actually works! I'll give him a fresh new swiffer sheet in the morning and by the end of the day, he collects dust and hair. All in a day's work!

@banana: @looch: I'll have to introduce my LO to cleaning supplies... maybe I'll get to fire my cleaning lady!

@artbee: Oh yeah, Cleaning supplies is the best non-toy toy! My LO also likes to rake leaves. Less work for me to do!
