I really would love to upgrade tomorrow when the iPhone 5s comes out.
I'm not sure what my strategy should be? Find a WalMart open at night? Stand in line for a verizon store to open in the morning? Scout out a small kiosk type place around lunch? Or just order online and wait.

I can't upgrade for another year, but I prefer the "wait a few weeks for things to die down" strategy. Waiting in lines at the crack of dawn isn't for me

I wait about a month until the hype dies down. I have no need to stay up all night/stake out a kiosk to get something the day it comes out.

Yeah I don't think there is anything I want that badly to wait in a ridiculous line for. It reminds be of how Black Friday is...I never can handle that! haha

I don't need it THAT bad to wait in line for it. Actually there are very few things in this world that I'd wait in line to buy. I'd probably wait a month or so!

I am going to wait a little bit. I told DH and my parents that I wanted them to split the cost for the 5s for my birthday in December.

I would wait. People who stand outside in line for those kinds of things are bat-s cray-cray. Nothing in life is that important that you can't wait until the hype dies down a little, especially if your current phone works.

My current 5 has been cracked for more than a month and the battery has issues from water damage. It would be awesome if I could get a 5s tomorrow. The Apple store is walking distance from us, but my DH waited in line last year and I don't think he can do it again this year b/c of work. So we are going to try and order online tonight. I'd love a new phone sooner, but I've lived with the cracks and crap battery for a while now, so don't mind waiting a bit longer, assuming it will take a while to ship.

I work across the street from an Apple store but I'm sure there were already people camped out there last night.

@T.H.O.U.: my DH would be so jealous of you! He's dying to get it but had to go to work. I'm sure it'll be sold out everywhere in a few hours! I really want to get it too, especially for the camera. However, my DH and I alternate getting the iPhones when they come out and it's his turn. I will have to wait until the 6!

Verizon has a trade in program right now, so I'm trading my phone in and they're sending me a $200 verizon giftcard.
I placed my order for a 5s this morning.
It's gonna take a while to arrive, but I'm not in a rush for a new phone, plus I don't wanna go into the store and wait forever.

I got the 5S and was at work by 8:30! Kinda bummed they only had black but I figure I have to put a case on it anways so that LO can play with it too!

@lioneyes: Mine is super cracked too! everyone comments on it! But more often than not, people tell me or show me how theirs is cracked too! I'm researching cases for the 5S so it won't happen again... but yeah, learned my lesson and just got AppleCare this time.

I will be waiting. I just left Best Buy after 5 years, and there is no way in hell I'm setting foot in that place on Black Friday or iPhone release day ever again for as long as I live. LOL

No strategy! I am not impressed with zero changes to the screen size, and no major upgrades to the battery. Plus iphone conditions their battery. I traded in my iphone for the LG G2 last week. Android, the horror! I'm still getting used to all the features, but I really like it so far! People were lined up for blocks outside the Apple store this morning!

I got the silver 5s this morning! It was so easy, we got it at Best Buy and there were only two other people in line and they weren't even there for iPhones, haha. So far I love it! The fingerprint thing is pretty cool.

@chopsuey: Last year when I got a 5 I ordered online and they told me it wouldn't ship until mid-October but I had it by Oct. 1st! So there is hope that you'll get it earlier!
