Hellobee Boards

My DD just hit the two and half year mark, and she still struggles with the "sharing" concept. In fact, I saw a four year old (or thereabouts) not want to share with her at the park the other day, so that is slightly reassuring? However, what I have found that some children just don't get along with my daughter. There is a little girl, who no matter what, the two of them ALWAYS fight. It reminds me of when I meet someone who I automatically don't like someone, some people (toddlers included, perhaps) just don't get along. Does anyone else find this?

My firstborn didn't learn to share consistently til around 2.75-3 yo. But even then, no matter what age, I think all toddlers still have their moments...

My second is 14 months and she shares 75% of the time. I do think though that that's because she's had to learn early since she has a big sis and they've been sharing toys since she was infant... and maybe to her, things usually aren't of high enough value yet for her to really care. Oh but when she doesn't want to share, she is vocal about it!

I do usually just distract her with another toy most of the time to get her to share something.

I am glad to read that it is skill that kids develop a little later, I was beginning to think my son would never learn to share!
