I began having timeable, powerful, consistent contractions the Saturday before DD was born (she was born on a Monday) but they didn't require concentration or breathing to get through them until 2:30 Monday morning (less than 5 hours before she was born). When would you consider the start of labor being? DH and I can't agree.

When my water broke. If I was having contractions before then I didn't notice because I was shopping, then stuffing my face with a HUGE lunch, lol!

I had a quick labor, I started contractions around 6:30 am on Thursday, my son was born at 8pm that night. My water never broke on its own.

Good question. For me I was induced at 9 pm on a Tuesday. My water broke that Wednesday morning about 7 am and se didn't arrive until 1 am early Thursday morning. Pretty much after my water broke was when I needed to move around and focus between contractions so I guess I would say after that point.

I feel like my labor started from the time I felt my first contraction, around 4 am on a Friday. They started to come at timeable intervals from that point and I gave birth Saturday morning at 9 am.

I started having contractions at 5am on Saturday, I got into the hospital by 7am that morning, they wouldnt ease up at all and i ended up having my son at 1:30pm that same day.

I never had braxton-hicks contractions, or any contractions before labor that I felt or recognized as contractions. I believe my labor began when I was woken up at 11:30pm from contractions that I thought were just indigestion cramps. It was a few hours later, around 2am, before I admitted to myself it was possibly labor and if it wasn't, something was very wrong and we needed to go to the hospital anyway. Baby was born at 5:41am.
