Immediately following our gender reveal. We sat in the waiting room and agreed on a first name. Took us another week to figure out the middle name. So, at 19 weeks, we had both the first and middle names set.

At the hospital, after birth. Well, that's 1/2 true. DH decided around 30 weeks but I wouldn't commit until I saw her. This pregnancy we decided on 2 names around 28 weeks or so and will finalize at the hospital, though I'm pretty sure we have our winner.

We have been trying for almost a year now and recently decided on two names. We have completely different tastes so I'm pretty sure we will stick with these. Although we may try to pick some back ups.

We still don't have a name for LO. We've got a list of about 4 that we both like (though, each of us like some names more than other names). At this point, I think we'll just wait until she is born and see what name she looks like, and pick one then.

I'm 38 weeks along, have a c-section scheduled for next Tuesday, and we have no name yet. We don't even have a list of names to choose from that we agree on. So basically, we're bringing in our own lists and going through them once we see him, hoping one will stick. It could get ugly.

We had names we thought picked out before we were even pregnant, however after we found out it was 'real" DH decided he wasn't in love with our girl name.
We are 99% set on our boy name now (at 15 weeks) and still aren't completley decided on a girl name, but have it narrowed down to 2. I'm guessing once we know gender for sure we will narrow it down.

We likely won't commit until the hospital. We are planning to stay team green and it's my goal to have a 1st choice and a backup choice for both a girl and a boy. I have known a few people who felt like their baby didn't really fit the name they picked but they went with it anyway because they had already announced it and had thing monogrammed, etc. So I don't want to be in that position.

We have a long list and will narrow it down to two to three different name combinations and then will name her once we finally see her face

I'm 33.5 weeks and we still haven't decided! We have it narrowed down to a few - probably are just going to wait to see him and then decide.

We started playing around with baby names well before we even thought about TTC. We've "agreed" on a couple names, but who knows if we'll even still use them when the time comes.

We had a name picked out almost as soon as we found our we were having a baby...And when we found out the gender, our name was confirmed. We still entertained other options but we always knew what her name would be.

We had a few options for a boy or a girl before I went in for an elective u/s (to determine the sex) at 16 weeks. The first name that is currently the front-runner was not on the list, but after the u/s (when I dragged DH to a BRU), we dicussed names. He suggested the first name, and instantly became super excited about it. Even though we haven't made it official (I am 19 weeks), my DH usually says things like "just put the name [butterbean] on the list . . . we have plenty of time to pick the perfect name for [butterbean] later."
The name has really grown on me, and he loves it so much that I am pretty sure that that's what we'll name her. Silly rabbit, he surprises me with his tenderness and sweetness sometimes.

We had talked about the girl name before I was even pregnant. Once we knew I was pregnant we knew right away that would be the name for a girl. My SIL wanted us to have a girl so badly she started calling the baby by name before we even knew it was a girl. Boys names...we had a list of 4 with 1 top contender but we weren't sold on it and are thankful we didn't have to decide since we're having a girl.

The moment we found out the gender. We were mulling over 2 girl names and one of them just made total sense when I found out. DH reinforced it by wanting to refer to the baby by her name as soon as we were home.

We had a boy and girls name ready sometime in my first trimester.

We've had our 2 boy names and 2 girl names picked our while we were TTC (but it took us 15 months... so plenty of time to think about those things). Once we found out we were pregnant we confirmed what the choices were and are just waiting to find out what we're having! Whatever we don't use will be used for siblings!

Hmm, about a week or two before our gender scan we chose a girl name. We argued over boy names up until the morning of our scan, when we found out we were having a girl

We started throwing around names as soon as we found out we were expecting. We have a list of possible girl names, but DH is super picky with boy names for some reason. We currently have only one first and middle we both like, so if we have a boy, he already has a name.

We chose a name right before my baby shower. We wanted to reveal the name at the baby shower so I went with what we both liked at that time. With this baby, we're still deciding on a girl's name. We have 20 and we will be narrowing it down to 10 by next week. And then 5 and then top 3. Feels like homework! lol

I'd love to share our name before or at the shower. I really want to start calling her by name!
DH is a very different personality type, his line of thinking currently is that he has until we have to discharge from the hospital - which we technically do, but I so want to know earlier!

I feel like we change our minds all the time! We are looking for names that aren't too popular and a little different. It's so difficult to choose!

He's due in less than two months, but we've had his name for a few years -- since well before we even moved in together. It started as a joke when we were talking about names that might fit with our surnames. When I actually did get pregnant, my husband told me that he really liked the name, and I liked it, too, so we were set when the scan came back showing a boy.
We had a girl's name picked out sometime in the first trimester. I had one I liked, and my husband had a couple he liked. I figured it might take some negotiation if the baby turned out to be a girl, but then one day, someone asked if we had picked out names, and my husband gave the girl's name I liked as the one we had picked. I didn't argue!

35 weeks and still no name--or even any left on the list--ALL NAMES have been vetoed. Huh.

@jessiejo17: Same thing here.
He decided he didn't like Charlie as a girl's nickname, and he didn't like Harold as a first name (thank goodness.) So we went from Charlotte Grace and Harold Alexander to Amelia Charlotte and Alexander Harold roughly a week after we had our BFP.

We had 3 names picked out for both gender, with a favourite for both. We left it til after LO was born to definitely decide.

I am 36 weeks and we have still not picked a name. We have narrowed it down to four though.

@sorrycharlie: It sounds to me like you may be making your decision when you see your little girl's face. What's your due date again?
We're afraid to use the name we picked because we're afraid to jinx something and don't want anyone to judge before she is here. Instead, we use fun nicknames.

@mediagirl: sept 25 DH hasn't made an honest effort to browse names, so we are going to attempt that today!
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
@sorrycharlie: Good luck! And... it may be a many day journey (with weeks or more between days you both even feel like looking at names again) but in the end you will have a baby and that baby will have a name.

We decided on ours girl name before I was pregnant! We were brainstorming on a long drive one day and we came across Mia and both loved it. As soon as we found out it is a girl we started calling her by her name. Her middle name I had always said that if I had a girl, i wanted to name her after my great grandmother who passed away a long time ago so there was no discussion on her middle name, Lily!

We decided on names when we were TTC, mainly I liked one girls name and DH liked a certain boys name. We mutually agreed on both of them.
