If you knew you wanted more than one child, but had no specific age gap in mind, when did you feel comfortable TTC again? Were there things that needed to happen, financially, physically, or otherwise?

LO is almost 15 months, and I'm trying to think seriously about this question. There is a lot that would need to be done to go from 1 to 2, but I am unsure of how much needs to be in place from the beginning. We would probably need to move out of our 1 bedroom, but there are 2 bedrooms in our building, so it doesn't seem too crazy to wait on that. I'd like to lose a bit more weight, and I'm seeing a new midwife for my annual this year. I do have a timing issue to work around for next summer, but seeing as how I still haven't had a period and have Paraguard now, we should be able to clear that hurdle pretty easily.

A big hurdle for us is daycare. I know we have to be ready to assume that cost, but when? Should I be able to make that large of a payment before we even TTC? That seems like a pretty high bar. I would like to have some money in savings, but I don't know what amount might make me feel comfortable TTC again?

So, what did you do? At the moment, we are thinking that I will get my IUD out in January, but that is still really tentative. I thought I wanted my kids close in age, so this gun-shy thing is freaking me out a bit!
