I'm really nervous about taking both kids out alone. I know it's only been two weeks with two kids but I just can't imagine going anywhere for a while alone, with both of them. When did you go out alone with more than one kid? Where did you go?

I didn't have to until 5 weeks PP when DH went back to work! I went to the library, mall, Dr's, grocery store, park and daycare.

I think I took them out solo for DS' 2 week pedi appt.
It wasn't that bad, but I just went from home--> car--> Dr.--> car--> home again

I think it was 2 weeks, but just to daycare pick up so it wasn't anything difficult! I would just start with something simple like going for a walk!

Obviously notbyet since LO isn't here yet. But with DS being 6, I don't anticipate it being too difficult as it would be if he were younger.

I'm lame and haven't attempted yet at almost 5 months. Usually my sister is around to help me bring the kids outside, and DH and I divide and conquer on the weekend outings.

At the one month mark. It was a goal I had and I figured the quicker I got started the easier it would be. For our first outing we went to a playground about 15 minute walk from the house.

6 weeks. It was kind of hard to figure out at first. I pushed DS in the stroller and wore DD while shopping for summer clothes to fit my pp body. Then I took DS to get a hair cut. It was fine though. I just made sure to feed DD before I left and right away when I got home.

One week-dropping DS off at daycare and grocery store. I feel like I can do anything now...I've got a system down.

I just did it the other day to go visit DS1's preschool! I was so proud of myself I took a picture. DS2 is 6 months, but my situation was different.

@HLK208: yes! That is key...dd has to be fed as close to before leaving as we can!

I took them solo to a pediatrician appt at 2 weeks. It wasn't that bad. I just feed the baby right before we leave. It was almost easier then because DD slept most of the time!

I took them out alone pretty much right away. My older child is very obedient most of the time, and the baby was an excellent newborn (meaning she slept all of the time). We don't have a car, so everything was with the stroller. My son would either ride his scooter or ride the wheelie board on the stroller.

I'm very scared about this - I think all initial outings are going to have to be with LO #1 in a stroller and LO #2 in a carrier - definitely both restrained!

I'm terrified to go out with both!
I took J to a friends on the way to L's 2 week dr appt and found just getting them ready/in the car was a big production. I can't imagine the mall! My friends say I just need to do it but I'm so scared of J running off and me having to leave L to go get him.
Also, I still have to build my double stroller...

@Mrsjets: I've worn dd everytime I've gone out and it has been great! We don't even have a double stroller (yet).

Day 5. We went to target, and the park. I wore J2. J1 however, was 4 years old. When J3 comes (J2 will be 2) I probably won't leave for a year or so

@matador84: I will have to do that too I think. I ordered an a ergo (and insert) online 2 weeks ago and am so excited to get it! J hated to be worn so hopefully I can get L in it early and often!

Around 6 weeks, had to pickup #1 from daycare and bring BBB her to the peds office

@Mrsjets: J2 is really full of life. With that comes the inability to listen in public. I'm sure the first time I do go out, it will end with all of us in tears.

We have gone for walks but at 4.5 mos I don't think I've taken both out alone. I wasn't even really comfortable being home alone with both until about 5-6 weeks. It is so hard.

I had a c-section and couldn't lift #1 into his carseat so probably not for 6-8 weeks. We went to visit family 30 minutes away, I was so nervous but it was fine, family was there help and I could breastfeed when I got there. I don't think I took them both to run errands by myself for many months! I was too nervous about changing diapers or needing to nurse while we were out.

I didn't take the baby out until she had her shots at 2 months. We went to the library, it wasn't bad at all. She's a very easy baby. At about 2 1/2 months I took them to Target, I was terrified. But the baby fell asleep in her carrier while we were walking around, so we ended up staying for lunch at Starbucks too.
People seem to be really nice and helpful when you're out alone with two kiddos

I can't remeber.....that's sad that I am that Farr emovedf rom it already. The boys were a little older maybe four months old before I took all out alone, but that's when we bought our triple stroller. Lilly might have been 4-5 weeks before I went out with all four because I had people with me until then since I wasn't supposed to drive for six weeks. I think I went to target for diapers and I got a lot of looks with 3 toddlers and an infant.

I think 3 weeks. I wore DD every time we went out. It was the only way. And a lot more daunting than it actually was

@junebugmama: full of life - lol I call my J independent and spirited Defiant just sounds so ugly!
@Mrs. Train: I know I've said this before but I feel I have to say it again...you are my hero!

6 days pp- out of necessity, E took his sweet time arriving that all my help was gone at that point. My IL's left the day before and my husband went back to work that day. This was one of the big reasons I was in such a panic to get him out!
We went to Target for a practice run since we had a pediatrician and 7 day newborn screen appointments the next day (and we were running out of milk, TP, toothpaste, diapers, etc- all things I had stocked up on weeks before expecting an earlier baby like his brother).
As we've talked about elsewhere- the Ergo has been my lifesaver! I'm still working with C on following verbal commands, so wearing the newborn allows me to chase him down easier. It also helps that the Ergo has meant instant sleep for E = win!
I also try to set myself up for success- start getting ready for appointments extra early, everyone well fed ahead of time (the newborn last since he wants food most often), and extra bribes in my purse for the toddler (candy and snacks). I'm still undecided on getting the double stroller... maybe if I can find a good deal used? We just don't use our singles very often with C as it is and I'm loving wearing the little guy.

@Mrsjets: thanks, I think we were all very disheveled and not very heroic
