DD is 5 months old and hasn't laughed yet. She squeals, screams, and lately, she does some kind of choking sound when she's excited. She's usually a happy baby, always smiling and jumping. She hasn't been behind on any milestones, she just hasn't laughed.
When did your LO start laughing?

Sometime before 4 months, then it was pretty rare but now at 5 months DS laughs as soon as you tickle him. It's not his primary noise when he's having fun though, there's a lot of shrieking going on

DD giggled for the first time at six weeks (it was on my birthday and we were dancing to Lady Gaga, her favorite!) And with DS I forgot! I try so hard to remember those moments like I did with DD, but it's hard...

2 days past 2 months he laughed for the first time. He's 3.5 months now & has only laughed a handful of times.

He giggled for the first time at 10 weeks but didn't belly laugh until 4 months.

Giggle started around 3 months but the belly laugh started around 7 months.

DD is 3 months and she still hasn't laughed, same as you though and excited squeals and things but still waiting for that laugh!

she would laugh in her sleep as a newborn around 4 weeks or so, but giggles out loud starting around 3.5 months. At first she would only giggle when I picked her up from day care. it sounded weird sound at first like she was choking & crying too, but it has improved since then lol, now at 7 months she laughs a lot

A few days shy of 3 months, and maybe a half dozen times since. Being startled makes him laugh (like with Peek-A-Boo).

Mine would do one chuckle at 3 or 4 months, and then started properly laughing at 5 or 6. It takes effort, though. She's a really happy baby, always squealing and smiling, but the laughing takes work.

At around 3.5 months. I was in my closet changing my clothes and she thought that was hilarious for some reason and started cracking up. I love baby laughs!!

I tried playing pee-a-boo and all she does is smile at me. She's most excited on her jumperoo and that's when she does the weird choking sound and shriek ... maybe that's the start of her laugh?

His first laugh came at 2.5 months which we caught on camera, but he's a stingy little booger!! He didn't laugh again until a few weeks later and in the beginning, it was ONLY for daddy!! Grrrr! Hahahaha. Now he's 4.5 months and laughs a little bit more, but it seems OTHER people that are NOT mommy makes him laugh! Grrrrrr again! =P (He has laughed for me too, but not often!)

@Crumbs: My DD did that a few weeks before she started laughing. She would shriek and make some weird noises. haha. Your LO will probably laugh really soon!

she giggled at thanksgiving dinner on her 2 month birthday and has a few times since, but not belly laughs! she's 10 weeks.
