Around 6 months.....I went to DC for a girl's trip, and then had a business trip the following week. We had just sleep trained so she was STTN, thankfully. DH flew solo for about 5 days. A couple months later, or maybe just a month later, she had her first sleepover at his mom's house She's the only one who's had her overnight.

Now that she's 2, i am more than happy to pawn her off once a month (or twice, if the situations arise) for sleepovers! We've been doing them for at least a year, and my only "rule" (provided i trust the person, duh) is that i wanted to wait until she was STTN consistently....because I feel bad saying "here's E, she wakes up 3x a night". Although she seems to know she's not at home now, and she'll wake up at least 1x/night at my MIL's before getting to move out of her crib and into her bed, so it's sort of a crap shoot. My MIL loves having her over, though.

An evening sans children is divine, basically.

I went on a work trip when she was 12 months and she stayed with my husband. The first time she spent the night with someone other than us was when she was 15 months. I had another work trip and my husband's aunt died out of state and he had to fly home for the funeral so my husband had to leave her with some good friends of ours. She did great, thanks goodness.

14 months. DH and I went away for 2 nights and she stayed with my mom (my mom actually stayed at our house because it was so much easier that way not having to lug all her baby stuff over there). I didn't leave her before then because she was EBF and it wasn't worth the time/effort to pump and transport breast milk.

14 months old for 2 nights in a row, but I came home during the day. I ran a 5k and stayed in a hotel one night near the race, and the next night I went to a work party with DH and we stayed at a hotel. My in laws came into town and kept him.

It went fine at night, but he refused to nap unless I was home, so I'm glad I came home in between. However, he doesn't see my in laws very often and I feel that if he had stayed with my parents he wouldn't have even noticed I was gone!

6 months, I went away for one night for a work trip. DD stayed with DH. It was a little rough for them but they survived. Although DH ended up calling off work the next day and they were both very happy to see me when I got home! DD is now 15 months and that's still the only night I've been away.

One of is has been with the girls every night for their whole lives. Our oldest is almost 5, so she's getting to an age where I'd think about it, but younger brother and sister aren't.

5 months, we spent a night away for our anniversary. We were in driving distance from our house and my sister/mom watched her. It was great!

LO was 6 or 8 weeks old and stayed overnight at my parents house. We had a wedding to go to, and we knew we'd be home really late. It made more sense to have LO stay with my parents and we stayed at the hotel for the wedding. I cried when I left her, but then I was fine. I trust my parents 100% which made it much easier to leave LO.

My mom was in visiting from out of state and wanted him to stay over at my grandmas where she was staying. She basically said "He's staying with us. Go home and sleep". I was nervous but kind of glad for the break and the bonding time for him and his grandma because he doesn't see her often. He was 9 months old.

that was the only time. I wish she lived closer so we could do it more often. Not necessarily for our convenience or to have "baby free time" but T doesn't have any family he can just go spend the day with away from us. I spent many weekends with my grandparents and had a blast when I was little. T won't have that until he's much older.

First time was at 3 months when my appendix ruptured. It was not a horrible experience. The longest was when we went to Las Vegas for a family wedding when LO was 17 months old. That didn't go really well either. She does great staying one night, but thats it.

First time for LO 1 was when she was 2.5 months old. We left her at my mom's for a destination wedding.

First time for LO 2 was a week after her first bday for a girls trip to Vegas.

My IL's gave us a sweet voucher for overnight babysitting along with a GC to a nice boutique hotel and restaurant in a cute coastal town near their house. We cashed in out it during our annual summer visit. DS was 7 months old. I was a great getaway and DS did really well with his grandparents. We were gone less than 24 hours. I will say it was more relaxing to spend time away once I was no longer nursing - something about needing to get up and pump first thing in the morning puts a little damper on things! But that's a very minor complaint for an all-expenses-paid romantic getaway.

When I delivered baby 2. No one around then that offered to take our oldest overnight, ever.

@MoreCoffee: haha agreed! We have a weekend trip planned this summer for our anniversary. It's 3 weeks before dd2 turns 1 so we'll see what the pumping situation will be like!

Earlier than I thought I would - L was almost 3 months old. It was a combination of reasons - the next day was my first day back at work and I was going to be dropping him off with my mom in the morning (she was temporarily our childcare - just for the first month.) I ended up at her house for something the night before, LO fell asleep while I was over, and she offered to just keep him overnight so that I could get a full night's sleep before my first day back.

To be honest though, it would really bug me if people were asking for weekends with my baby before they were even born! I'm having a hard time articulating why...I just don't really see why a bunch of people would want overnight alone time with my infant. Okay, they want fun baby bonding time...but baby wants comfort and familiarity, and obviously baby's needs come first. I wouldn't even consider it unless it was someone LO knows super well, otherwise it would just be stressful for him.

But anyways, back to your point, I would just say something generic like, "Oh, we'll see when we're ready for that!"

Went away on a work trip at 7 months. She was home with DH and Grandma.

For work when she was 5 months. Stayed at my parents house but DH ended up being able to spend the night there too. Then together at 9 months for a work event. Stayed with my parents.

DH was in school 2 hours away when she was born so he was away overnight starting early.

My daughter was about 2 months old the first time we took a weekend trip without her. My mother watched her at her house. She has had several sleepovers with her grammie since then, both for date nights and our travels. My son is only 7 weeks old, and I think it'll be a while before my mom offers to watch both kids overnight, so he'll likely be much older when I finally have a night without him.

For us he was about 4 weeks old. We don't have family in town and didn't have anyone stay with us, but a sweet friend offered to take him for us for a night so we could get some sleep and spend some time together. We dropped him off at dinner time and picked him up around 9 the next morning. I am so so so glad we ripped off the band aid and did it early. It was much harder the next time, when we left him with my parents so we could go to a wedding. He was perfectly fine, and we got a much needed break.

I think DS was around 15 months. We went to a concert a couple of hours away and stayed in a hotel. It was hard, but we all survived. We've only gone overnight together one other time. Other than that, one of us has always stayed behind.
