My DD1's 4th birthday is in like 3 months, she talks about her party ALL THE TIME. And how she wants to invite ALL her daycare friends, even the babies (she's at an in home daycare.) When did you start inviting all the daycare families to your parties?

@LuLu Mom: @Mamaof2: 4th! It was awesome. We're at a center so it was nice to chat with the other parents. And DD LOVED having her friends there. We had count restrictions so I had her tell me who she wanted to invite and then cross compared the list with her teacher.

We're inviting them for his 4th in August. He's so excited, and has invited everyone at school already

We started at her 1st birthday! She has been at day care with the same kids since she was 15 weeks old and she loves her friends. Plus, the first birthdays were where we really starting to build friendships with the other parents and now we are all SO close.

We just invited a few daycare friends this year when DS turned 4 and DD turned 3. It was our second year at the school and we felt more comfortable/ knew the parents and the children well enough to invite them into our home. It'll be interesting to see how we celebrate 5 and 4 next year

@Mrs. Grizzly Bear: 5 will be crazy for DD1 next year. She will still have all her daycare friends and will also be in 1/2 day Universal PreK. I don't want to know the size of the guest list for our super friendly girl.

I'm not sure if we'll start this year at 3, but we if don't it'll probably be next year at 4. He hasn't been invited to any parties yet, other than kids of friends of ours, so we haven't felt like we need to reciprocate. Maybe this fall when he's in the preschool classroom it'll be more of a thing. But for 2 we just did a dinner with our families and 1 set of friends and their 2 kids. Very low key. I'm fine with keeping that way until he gets super excited about birthdays.

DS is turning 4 and I'm planning to ask him if there are any preschool friends he wants to invite. I won't be inviting the class though, as school has ended for summer and he has a summer birthday.

We haven't yet for DS1 (he was 3 at his last bday), but he was invited to a good 5-6 parties from his classmates this year. I feel like it's too young/early myself. Between family and friends, parties are already huge/expensive.

We invited LO's preschool friends for his 5th birthday party this year. It was what all of the cool kids were doing (we received 2 invitations within a week of each other). It was a last minute decision, and I'm glad that we did. The kids had a blast, and we kept it simple with a party at home. He only had 8 classmates, and only 5 of them attended (with 2 siblings tagging along).

We haven't yet but I think we will start this year for her 3rd. However, she should be moving over to preschool right before so I hope to only keep it to a few friends that she has known for years now. The preschool is much bigger than the toddler class and I can't imagine inviting all of them, especially if she'd only been in the class with them for a month.
