I used to read the babies a book each night but I stopped. I should start doing it again. They seem to be interested when I do. I need to get back to a bedtime routine.

Maybe around 10 months? He started paying attention around 1.

My son is turning one in 2 weeks and I haven't started yet. I really need to!!! I keep forgetting. Bedtime is so crazy these days

Not till later with LO1--maybe after 18 months. Before that, we read/looked at books during the day. We started doing it at bedtime after she moved into her big girl bed, so we could lay with her and read, then just turn off the light.
These days, she likes to read to us! haha

Probably around 3 months when we started with his official bedtime routine.

Around 3 months, but we weren't consistent with it, especially when I was still nursing to sleep. Once we were no longer nursing to sleep (12.5 months with Logan), we were consistent about reading before bed.

We have been reading DD 2 books each night before bed ever since she was born. We often read to her during the day as well. My mom and SIL are teachers and said we should read as often as possible as soon as DD was born.

3 months. As a baby, I read my books to her if I was trying to get her to fall asleep and she just wanted to be rocked. At 3 months, we started our bedtime routine and would read a book at bedtime, even though she didn't seem to notice.

We read a book or two every day for the first 6-7 months until he became more interactive and wasn't interested. then around 12 months he started loving books again, and now we read 4-5 books most days at 20 months.

I think we tried about 9 months, but she just wanted to turn the pages constantly. We were more successful with the actual reading somewhere between 12-14 months.

with LO2, around 6 weeks to help mark the bedtime routine. with LO1, from the day he was born because i was super anxious and had read that that's what i was supposed to do.

With DD1, every night since birth. DD2 gets a book if she can stay awake until the first goes to sleep.... which isn't often.

Since we started a bedtime routine, so 8 weeks for DD1 and around 3-4 months for DD2.

I think 18 months or so, when we switched to a floor mattress. Before that we always just read a lot during the day.

I've tried on and off since 6 weeks but J just isn't into it yet. He'll let me read to him while he plays, but if I sit him on my lap he spends the entire time trying to close the book. It's not worth the hassle and melt-down when I try to keep the book open. He's 10.5 months now.

Early - 6 weeks? We started with LO1 then and he loves reading at bed. Once LO2 was born, he adapted to LO1's schedule. We started feeding LO2 while reading to LO1, and they now both enjoy it. LO2 is 6 months.

we've been reading books together for a long, long time, like since she was itty bitty, but more as part of play time. reading is one of her favorite activities. It didn't become part of our specific bed time routine until about a month ago (so 22 months) when I dropped nursing. before, our routine was bath, jammies, nurse, "dada rock" (bc dh puts her down much more easily than I do!). now, it's bath, jammies, 2 books, "mama rock," then "dada rock"

We started being more consistent around a year. My youngest caught on much quicker and sits and listens. It took awhile for DS1 to sit, focus and listen.

6mo maybe? Maybe sooner. I like routine a lot so it was as much for me as for her. But she's been interested in books since she was really teeny.

I can't remember exactly but it was definitely a firm part of the routine by 7 months. She's 11 months now and very keen on bedtime storytime now; she focuses on each page and touches the pictures and even insists on turning each page herself and sometimes insists on reading the book a second time (she grabs it and starts forcing her finger between the pages to get it to open again). I think the repetition of the rhymes helps calm her.

This is not part of her routine. We don't really have one. But we read books during the day.

DD1 - started at 4 months consistently
DD2 - umm she's 8.5 months and she gets a book once in awhile

We have been reading since 6 months. Every single night. They love to be read too. ️

Pretty early - I think 6 weeks because we were trying to establish a bedtime routine. He didn't look and was basically half asleep but I like that he heard our voices and became used to it.

We started around 2-3 months and don't think we've ever missed a night - it's def part of the bedtime routine.

Around 2-3 months when I was establishing a solid bedtime routine. It used to be the same 3 books every night, no matter where we were. Now at 22 months, he is very vocal about what/how many books he wants to read!

I think around 6 months. We made it part of his bedtime routine. My son is almost 3 now, and he loves reading books before going to sleep.

I don't remember with DD1 but it was early on. For DD2 we read books before nap but she is SO tired come bedtime we usually just nurse and then do songs, no books. I always feel bad about it though

I think it was around 13 months, we stopped bedtime bottles so it was a natural new bedtime routine. He loves it, it's hard to remember life before it! I always read to him, but it wasn't in the bedtime routine when he was a little baby.
