At what point in your pregnancy did you start researching pediatricians? How many did you go through before you were happy with one?

We started researching and requesting recommendations for pediatricians around 32 weeks and then narrowed it down to two that we wanted to meet. We did those visits at 36 weeks and selected the one we preferred. We've been with the same pedi from the beginning and don't plan to change any time soon.

I am 28 weeks and at our appointment last week our midwife asked if we had started looking into pediatricians...which we basically had not! So she gave us their recommended list and marked those that they like to work with the most. So probably in the next few weeks we will be contacting our favorites.

I started researching pediatricians around 26wks and interviewed at 28wks. I didn't have any recommendations because my friends who have children live in different boroughs/neighborhoods far from me.
We had 2 we were going to see, but after an orientation with the first pediatrician, we chose her. She is part of a larger practice that has locations throughout the city (so we could go to another office for an emergency if she is out for some reason) and a 24/7 on-call doctor.

I started researching at 35 weeks but didn't actually have one until after LO was born and he wasn't even one that I had researched!

My hospital has an event where you can meet 6-7 doctors. They all told you about their practice and you could ask questions. I narrowed it down to 2 that we liked. I told my mom who and she said that her cleaning lady cleans one of the doctors houses and said that her son is on drugs, which made me not want to use her anymore, so we just had the one. We interviwed him at his office so we could check it out, and asked friends with kids who go to him about him.

I started around 28-30 weeks I believe. I was looking for a family doctor though and after checking her out on ratemds.com I went in and had an overview appointment and was done with it. My husband and son are also now both her patients.

My doc recommended we start looking at 24 weeks. She recommended a practice but when I called they told me they aren't accepting new patients right now. Since we still have a lot of time, I'm going to wait and call back.

My doctor asked me about it at 25 weeks. After asking a lot of moms in the area, I've narrowed it down to 2, but I'm not going to set up appointments with them until after 30 weeks.

There's basically one group in the area so I didn't think about it much. In the third trimester I went to a info visit they hosted for expectant moms but they kind of have a monopoly in our area so there wasn't much to think about, luckily they're very nice.
