I wanted to start shaving in the 7th grade, but my dad and stepmom wouldn't let me. Instead I had to use Nair. I hated it! My skin is sensitive and it would itch. And it smelled so gross. It never got all the hair off either.
My mom thought it was ridiculous that I wasn't allowed to shave so I got to start when I moved in with her. I was in 9th grade then.

I don't need to shave but I tried it a few times in the 7th grade.

I was 13. I roped my 11 year old sister into asking my mom for "us" because I was too chicken to ask, lol. I still remember the memory vividly!

I'm thinking 7th grade? Maybe younger because I had an older sister and wanted to do everything she wanted.

I was in 5th grade when my mom let me start to shave my lower legs. My dark Italian hair made me self conscious so she and my dad discussed it at length and decided it was ok.
If any future little girls we have start to get self conscious or heaven forbid teased, husband and I agreed to allow shaving. His sisters started fairly young too for the same reasons I did.

I was 12 or 13 and started without asking . . . I just never talked to my mom about any of that kind of stuff!

I was in 6th grade but my legs were SO hairy (thanks Italian genes!) and I was a cheerleader so I was embarrassed and begged to shave. My grandmother brought me this ancient pink electric shaver to use for the first try. Haha!

I did it without my mom's permission when I was 12. She was really upset with me. Probably just because she was afraid I could have cut myself or something so I remember it vividly. After that she let me continue though!
