We started the day we came home at day 3! She definitely hated it so we had to build up her tolerance gradually!

We started right away, too! We started with like 2 minutes and have been slowly building up to 15 minutes at a time.

We also started as soon as we got home. Now the clever little miss just flips over as soon as she tires of it, so we only get like a couple minutes at a time!

Right away! With our first we didn't do it for the first...month or more? She therefore haaaated it. Also she was slow in all her gross motor milestones, which might not be related, but could very well be.

We started right away but have her do it on our chests most of the time. She actually tolerates it pretty well on the floor too though.

huh? i have done it twice... he's 11 days
both times were brief (1-2 minutes)
never thought about it as something i should be doing "on purpose"

We held him skin to skin on his belly initially and let him nap on his belly while watching him- he preferred to be on his belly at first anyway. At the one month appointment our pediatrician talked about starting tummy time on purpose.
One thing I wish I had known was to put him more on his elbows (like how the Sphynx sits), placing them forward instead of just leaving his arms at his sides. I feel like he is a bit behind the other babies in swim class in doing that, I think he would have rolled over and gotten more strength in holding his head up sooner if we'd worked on that earlier- I didn't figure this out until about 4 months old.
@Mrs. Jacks: I can't remember, is there a tummy time post yet?

Around 3 weeks but it wasn't until 6 weeks that he started liking it.

@Mrs. Jacks: Of course, you know that I love your posts! If you have the time, I know you have mentioned having other topics in the works.
I feel like I didn't go about tummy time as well as we could have, and would love some pointers for future monsters

We started at about a week & she hated it from day 1! We just did a couple minutes @ a time, multiple times/day.

@lemondrop: I think I still owe you one on baby sign (which is started). Tonight I'm working on MSPI... and I have a few more that are in early gestation. Still I can prioritize tummy time if you like

We started right away, but she hated it so she didn't stay there long.

Right away but she also hated it so we didn't do it all that much.

Right away too.
He likes it, so we do it several times a day.
I do it until he tells me it's time to move on.

I tried on and off when LO was a few weeks old but she HATED it. But starting at 1.5 months I did it every day for a few minutes at a time at least.

@Mrs. Jacks: I feel like you're like the mother bee (other than THE Mrs.bee obviously!) on here haha you write so many wonderfully informational posts and always have such great advice!
Our midwife told us within the first couple weeks. We just had him on our chest and still do tummy time mostly on our chest because he hates being on the ground.

We started when we got home. I heard you should start day 1 but lying on your chest counts so you may already have started without knowing!

I started when we got home as well but now at 3.5 months he still doesn't like it. I always use a pillow/boppy and toys to assist but he is only there for about 3 minutes or so.

@Mrs. Jacks: sometime in the nearish future is great- not a rush. It looks like Winniebee could use it too, anything for the cause
@Coco Bee: I agree! Along with my research, my pediatrician and my uncle who is a pediatrician, I like to check where Mrs. Jacks stands on things to weigh the options- mostly from her perspective as an informed, experienced mom.

We started around week 2. To be honest, I'm to entirely sure what I'm supposed to be doing.
