I started wearing a little bit in 10th grade, and then everyday in 11th grade. My parents didn't say too much about it...
Do you think you'll set a specific age when your daughter can start wearing makeup?

I wasn't really interested in makeup until I was an adult. I think my parents are very thankful for that!

The rule in our house was you weren't allowed to wear make up until you started your period. I think I was in 8th grade so around 13. It was also special in that we got make up lessons and department store makeup instead of drugstore make up so it wasn't too heavy and we knew what to do.

Well, I wasn't even allowed to pluck my eyebrows until I was in grade 12! And I had crazy eyebrows! When I was in grade 13 (Ontario had grade 13 until 2001...I was the second last batch of 13-ers) I started wearing lipstick and pale, pale eyeshadow...My parents let it go.
In general, though, I don't wear makeup - just a little eyeliner and blush.

I started in middle school. I'll probably start letting her wear it at her bat mitzvah, so when she is 13.

I think I started with color cosmetics at 14. Before that, I was allowed clear gloss, translucent powder and clear mascara...boring!
I think I will make my LO wait til 13-14...

I started wearing eyeliner when I was 18. At almost 32, eyeliner is all I wear still.

I started when I was like 12 or something. But, I never wore a lot like everyone else did. Just eyeshadow and mascara. I now only wear powder and mascara!

the rule in my family was high school, but even then, i really didn't wear a lot of makeup, just mascara and a little concealer
i was most excited about being able to wear nail polish to school in high school, but that was because my catholic grade school didn't allow it, not my parents

Oh man... I was in like, 6th grade. I've always loved makeup and my mom never had too much of an issue when I was younger as long as I didn't wear too much. Once I got into 8th-9th kid and it was clear that I was going to be a goth kid... she just gave up and let me do whatever.
