Yes I am asking for this little boy still in my belly! Lol
I want to start him as early as possible but I don't know much about baseball/soccer/football etc. and what age is appropriate to start. What did you mommas do?

You can start soccer at 18 months for boys or girls. My son started at age 3, and it's not "organized" in the sense that it's games, it's more like coach leading them through drills.
Tee ball is the precursor to little league/baseball, but I haven't looked into it for my son yet.

Not to be annoying, but this question shouldn't be limited to boys!
I know a ton of kids who started soccer, t-ball and/or hockey/skating right around three years old.

I would wait until he expresses an interest in a particular sport. Plenty of little boys are not into football/baseball/fishing/etc. so I'd probably wait until he's old enough to express whatever his interests end up being.

I'm planning to start DD in soccer and dance/gymnastics when she's 3-4.

My rec center holds various sports classes (golf, basketball, baseball, soccer) for kids around 2 years old I think. I took the little boy I babysit to them over the summer and he loved it. It helped that the instructor was awesome. I think he was a college student studying physical education because he had a lot of patience for all those little kids! It wasn't organized with games and such, just mainly taught the kids basics of the sports.
The little boy I watch started around 3 years old I think and he had some attention issues. There were younger kids in the classes and they had an even harder time paying attention, but if you have a good instructor it could work with a younger kid!
ETA: Gymnastics classes usually start pretty young, around 18 months-2 years so that would be an activity to start young!

My eldest started ballet/dance at 2.5 yo. I started at 3 yo back in the day. It was easy for my DD to start at that age though, since they offered the class at her preschool as an extracurricular activity. We added soccer when she was 3.

I think 3-4 is a good age. They can follow instructions and have a longer attention span. We started ballet at 3.5.
