Just curious! LO is almost 11 mo and I've started putting him in normal shirts occasionally. Part of me wonders what the benefit is of onesies at this point... (I'm in SoCal so weather isn't a factor).

We're still in onsies at 15 mo but it's still cold out. I'll probably stop starting this summer.

I hate onesies. I probably stopped at around 9 months or so. They just seemed to be more of a pain than benefit

She still wears onesies at 22 months but it's cold here! She wears a onesie on cold days.

I often put DD (13 mo) in regular shirts, but I really like onesies for keeping her belly warm (usually layer onesies under other things) and keeping everything tucked in.

DD is still in onesies at 15 months, but it's winter in Chicago, and she's still crawling. I figure we'll be done with them when she's more consistently walking/upright.

Most of the time until a year, half time until 18 months, then we've pretty much stopped and put them away by 2 years

Only as a base later because it's cold. We're stopping once the weather warms a bit. I would have stopped much earlier if the weather had cooperated with me

We stopped when he was around a year old? But then started again at 16-17 months, because it was winter and we wanted a base layer that would cover his stomach no matter what he did. We'll stop using them again once it warms up.

she's 7 months and more often than not she wears a regular shirt. I just don't really like them.

Cold = onsies
Hot = no onsies
For use he stop wearing onsies during the summer last year when he was about a year old and I was like yay we are done with onsies... then it got cold and I didn't like his little tummy exposed to the cold and then he was back... at 24 months he's still in a onsies but when it gets warm again he will be out of it.
Don't know what we will do when it gets cold again because they don't make onsies for 3 year olds!

SoCal here, too... my mom likes putting onesies on underneath her clothes to keep her tummy from being exposed. They usually go out for walks first thing after breakfast, so it's been 50s (not cold IMO) when they leave the house.

i liked onesies until she started walking so her shirt wouldn't ride up while crawling.

At 17 months she only wears them when 1) her shirt is too short or 2) it's super cold day. I'm starting to phase them out as htey are a pain for diaper changes. On less step is nice!

I can't wait until the weather warms up more and I can stop putting DS, almost 9 months, in onesies. I hate them and how hard it makes it to check his diaper. We use cloth so the "smell test" doesn't really work. It's so much more convenient to check when he's just in a shirt.

I do like the tank-top onesies for summer, though... either alone or with shorts/skirts.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Well she wears a lot of onesies to daycare, but at home, i like onesies+no pants or t-shirt and skirt/pant combos. Easier to change them in. But she wears sleepers a lot during the day, too, b/c it's cold out

DD wore them a looooong time. 18ish months?
I stopped putting DS in them early on because he's a pooping machine and it's easier to check for poops when he's wearing separates.

I think until about 14 months, we stopped because the weather got warmer for our Summer. She's almost 18 months and will get some more for our upcoming winter, will probably be the last season we use them for though.

At 18 months DS still wears them as undershirts every day but it's really cold too. I'll probably stop putting him in them when the weather improves. I think the longest they can possibly wear them is until you start potty training right?

My 18 month old still wears them, but will probably stop soon because he's going to outgrow the largest size {24 months}.

I stopped at 2 years because daycare was starting to introduce the potty to her and needed easy access. I like having her tummy covered.

15 months and still wearing them! will probably stop next fall
nectarine / 2054 posts
We still do at 16 months and will for a while I think. He wears them under regular tops mostly. Like some of the pps I like having his tummy covered.
bananas / 9227 posts
20 months and I don't plan to stop using them until she's ready for potty training. But she'll still likely wear them for bedtime. It's cold here.

so cal here and i still have some onesies in this size and the next size up, but not gonna buy them after this! she's 13.5 months.
ETA: she mostly wears shirts.
