I live in the suburbs so I drive a lot. I've been using a car seat adapter for my stroller. (LO is almost 15lbs). I hate lugging the car seat in and out of the car, but I can also see it being annoying to get LO out of the car seat and having to strap him into the stroller, especially if it's just a quick trip somewhere. When did you start using the stroller seat regularly?

I started using an umbrella stroller when LO 1 was 7 months.
I started earlier with LO 2 because I hated the car seat adapter for our City Mini double. I think she was 5 weeks?

I never used the car seat adaptor with DS. DD is just about 4 months and we still use it 50% of the time.

@autumnlove: so LO2 doesn't face you in the stroller? How did your stroller experience feel with world facing vs parent facing at that age?

@BabyTsMom: I used it longer than most probably, until 8 months ish? But it was winter and it felt easier to keep her warm in the car seat than the big stroller seat. I also love two flights up so I felt like it was easier to carry her up and down the stairs in the seat than a wiggly baby plus bags, but that's pretty specific to my situation! I also liked being able to carry her up in the seat and put her in her room if she was sleeping.
I rarely drive and mostly just walked places.
When I did switch to the stroller seat I kept her facing me for several more months- turned her forward around 13 months. -
M was in a convertible carseat from the beginning, so I bought a stroller that reclines all the way for newborns. For quick trips, I either carry him or wear him.

Let's see, my dad broke the adapter when he came to visit, so at about 5 weeks? We tried to find a replacement, but the cost was outrageous, so we didn't replace it.
Much later, I was fiddling around with the broken adapter only to discover it wasn't really broken!

right around the time we switched her to her convertible seat, at 5.5 months. it was spring here, so I was okay with not needing to bundle her with blankets in the bucket seat.
