LO is a peanut still! Just under 14lbs at her 4 month check up 2 weeks ago! Wondering when you all installed the convertible car seat? We bought ourselves 2 Britax Roundabouts and are considering installation for DH. I find myself always keeping her carseat in the car now (Chicco) because I find it's a hassle to take in and out of daycare/the house now.

I switched LO to a convertible seat at 7 months and 17 lbs.

i'm curious about this. we have both infant and convertible and their legs are sticking out of the infant, so wondering when i need to change.... they are both 5 months and over 17 pounds and 27 inches...

8 months...would have done it sooner but I was late in ordering it and it took awhile to arrive.
We did visit my parents when my son was 6 months and he rode comfortably in his convertible then.

M is 4.5 months now and was 26.5" at her 4month check up. She's about 2" from the top of the Chicco now. So I'd imagine def by the time she's 6 months since she's growing an average of 1"+ a month. I already ordered a Britax when there was a good sale when they were phasing out the old model!

We are in the minority, we waited until a year. Our Britax convertible seat did not fit well in our car rear facing so we waited until she was a year and could be forward facing. Our LO is on the large side, but we had the Graco Snugride35. She was 32 inches (the max height) and 29 pounds when we took her out of it at a year. Very rarely did we carry her around in the bucket after she was able to sit independently.

My 'little' guy is probably 18 pounds now and I still use the bucket. I pride myself on being strong, so I am maybe foolish, but I do carry it from car to house and from car to grocerycart or into wherever we are going if I will need him to have a seat there.
My seat is good til 22 or 24 pounds (I'll have to look again) and I plan to use it til then (which might be soon, as he's been a steady 2 pounds a month boy!)

LO is tiny (15 LBS at 6.5 months) so we'll probably keep her in the Chicco infant seat for awhile longer. If anything, she'll probably outgrow my height way before she outgrows it by weight, since she's a long baby.

@MamaG: We also waited until 1 year with DD. She was little, and she still fit in the infant seat until 12 months.
I think we're going to switch DS over at 9 months, though. He's a tank!

We'll probably wait until Christmas and ask grandparents for a seat as a Christmas present
She'll be almost 8 months then.

We're doing it at 6 months. She's about 20lbs.
