DD is 20 months. Slowly over the past few weeks onesies and one piece jams have been driving me crazy. I'm not planning on potty training her yet but I think it's because diaper changes are so difficult. All the sudden I want to get rid of it all and switch to 2pc everything which is not practical since she is solidly in 18-24 mo. When did you make the switch? Why?

we have a few both at 18-24... and few more one piece ones for winter.. i think 2T we'll move on to two pieces.

After last winter. I hate one pieces. I also remember how unpleasant it was as a child to have to unzip the whole piece in the winter and feel that shock of cold air.

We do mostly Hanna Andersen pajamas and I love the one pieces so we'll wait until she grows out of the 90s which is the last size in the zip ups. It helps though that we put them on right before bed and I just put her in clothes after her first diaper change. Potty training may be a deal breaker but I figure she's likely to be in a diaper at night for awhile too.

At 2T she started wearing both. She's in 3T now and we are still putting her in footed fleece jammies on cold nights. She's still in a pull up at night.

He was fully in 2 piece clothes and pjs after he outgrew the last of his 12mo onesies and pjs, but we preferred 2 piece pjs around 9 months.

We're already mostly in two pieces at 10 months because his thighs are too fat to zip up the one pieces.
ETA he is in 18 month clothes -
Umm probably right after her 1st birthday, she was in 18-24 month clothes then, some 2T, and it was just easier!

We went to 2 piece PJs when they grew out of 9
month sleepers. I'm not a fan of the fit of the one piece PJs that start at 12 months, plus I'm a little obsessed with PJs and I think the 2 piece ones are much cuter when they're toddlers! At 15 months, LO2 has a few onesies, but mostly wears regular shirts. -
We also switched right after her first birthday. We still put her in footed sleepers when it's really cold (Georgia, so not often).
Also, DD is 26 months and wearing both 18-24 month and 2T PJs. She still fits into some 12-18 month ones in a pinch, but the necks are getting tight. 2T may not be that much bigger on your LO (DD is very average-sized and skinny).

We switched to 2 pieces around her first birthday. Mainly because it was around Christmas and I wanted her to wear cute pjs for Christmas morning. Since then I've only bought 2 pieces. She's tiny, so at 23 months she still wearing size 12 months.

When we potty trained. She was about 2.5.

Around a year? We didn't make the switch cold-turkey, though; she had a mix of both last winter. All of her short-sleeve pajamas were 2-piece, and all of the long-sleeves that still fit are as well. She'll be 2 this month.

I think she was around 12 months. It was obvious she really disliked getting zipped into the onesies, she would go from happy and smiling to upset and crying in an instant. That stopped as soon as we switched to shirts and pants. I think they're just much more comfortable for her.

LO (18mos) is still in zip-up footie pajamas, but otherwise it has been 2-pieces from as soon as he fit into 12m sizes. He has a long torso and we cloth-diaper during the day, so, onsies never fit well.

DD is still in one piece pajamas at almost 2 but stopped wearing onesies and rompers right around her first birthday/when she was walking. I like the one piece pajamas because they seem to prevent her from messing with her diaper when she wakes up.

Side question- where do you buy non-onesie longsleeve T-shirts for 18 to 24 months

@youboots: Most of DD's basic long sleeve shirts are from Target, Old Navy, or Carters.

We started at 18 months. It's faster to get her changed. She also has interest in potty.she also wants to take her own clothes which just doesn't work with a onesie. Haven't had any trouble with finding clothes in this size. Most of her clothes are secondhand, but Gap and Gymboree have lots of non onesie shirts.

I kept my son in them as long as possible, he still requests at least one pair of zip up footie pajamas because he loves to be all snug.
I think with the onesies, I stopped using them when he outgrew the 24 month size somewhere during his second year.
eta: Check gymboree...it might not be your style, but they have shirts for girls that aren't onesie.

We didn't start using them till she was around 15 months. Whenever she moved to 18 month size. She still wore some footed one pieces during that next winter but we all preferred the two piece as soon as she was walking.
I also ditched onesies's around 12 months. Diaper changes were much much easier without them. ON, Target, and Gap is where most of her clothes are from.

We stopped using them around a year old. She wouls always trip on the feet part, and its so much easier to change her in.

We're doing a mix of footie pj's and zip ups with our youngest because he can't wear fleece ones in the winter. He's 17 months old. We switched his older brother around 2.

This is probably our last winter with one piece pajamas. DD is almost 2.5. She's not potty trained yet, but once she is those won't be practical. We have a mix of one and two piece winter pajamas right now. I like the one piece ones when it's really cold.

Right around 12 months. We still have a few one-pieces in each size, even for the 4 year old, but they annoy me with diaper changes and LO1 ends up taking it off one-pieces more often than not.

Somewhere inbetween 12-18 mo. The main reason being DD's feet were way too big for her size's feet part.

@snowjewelz: That's hilarious. We switched because T's feet are so small that he would crawl up into the legs and then get stuck. Plus his legs are short and beefy, so footies have never fit him well.
We switched for the most part around 10 months. We have tile floors and when they were pulling up and starting to try to walk I wanted them in bare feet so they were stickier. Plus the crawling/small feet/short, fat legs issue.

We stopped using onesies and switched mostly to 2 piece pjs very early, around 7 months. Kiddo was very mobile, diaper changes were a struggle, she has a long torso and was growing out of 12 month sizes length wise.
Now at 14 months, she wears long sleeve tees and dresses, and leggings and jeggings. At night, she wears two pieces pjs most nights and cotton sleepers on chillier nights.
We get most of our clothes either second hand or on clearance. We like babygap, osh kosh, the children's place, old navy, and Carter's for long sleeve, basic tees and tops.
For chilly days, we often do a short sleeve tshirt with a light sweatshirt over it, and then a coat for walks, errands, etc.

About ten months and wished we would've done it sooner! So much easier to get our wiggly worm ready for bed.

Ok I looked online and am going to old navy today. A few long sleeve Ts to replace onesies and tights to round out her winter wardrobe are on my list.
Who is interested in size 85 1pc Hannah jams? I have 3 pairs they were going to be Christmas gifts but I'm just getting 2pc in her next size. I'll list them on classifieds.
