My parents keep pressuring us to take DD to the movies, but I think we're going to wait another year or so until she's closer to 4. She won't even sit through a whole movie at home right now!

There are some free summer movies that maybe you could try. That way if you had to leave early it wouldn't be a big deal.

charlie is 3.3 and i think he could sit through a short movie, but we probably wouldn't take him until next summer? when he's 4.

when he was 8 days old! But we have movie theatres here that play movies with the sound lowered, lights are dim, a change table is provided, and crying babies are acceptable. So I go every wednesday afternoon with him. In the beginning, he would sleep the whole time, now he sleeps part of it, then i put him in the baby bjorn carrier and am able to watch the movie while standing.

@PurpleUnicorn: stars and strollers FTW!!!
We did the same, brought her to the baby friendly movies a few times. DH even snuck out of the office one afternoon while I had a hair appt and took LO to see that Will Ferrell movie (The Campaign?). I liked that it wasn't just kiddo movies too. She was so little she mostly slept.

I took her to some Cry Baby Matinee movies when I was on my maternity leave. She was a month old and 2 months old. It was fun!

DD is 4.5, but we haven't taken her yet. There just hasn't been a movie that seemed appropriate enough for her, since she gets scared easily and won't even sit through Tangled at home. 30 minute shows are still the best for her, but I know some of her school friends go to movies.
