LO will be two this month. We intend to keep her rear facing as long as we can. She is getting crankier and crankier in the car, though, so I am hoping whenever we turn her around she will enjoy it again.
When did you turn LO around? Did it make them happier in the car or make no difference? She might just be a cranky two ear old no matter what

LO 1 was fine in her seat but I was getting so sick of comments from my in laws. We moved her at 2 years and 9 months. I will move LO 2 after she turns 2.

My nearly 2-year-old is SO tiny (like, he still has to use the infant insert) and doesn't even fit weight requirements to flip him to forward-facing in one of our car seats, so it'll be awhile. He doesn't seem to mind being in the car most of the time, and he has a mirror so he can see us, so there doesn't seem to be a reason to switch him around any time soon.

I'm going to turn him when he outgrows RF in our carseat - not sure when that will be, but his head is getting closer and closer to the top!

We turned LO at 21 months. DH was worried that she looked uncomfortable RF (I was not). I was tired of the whining. She surpassed the weight requirement. Life in the car is so much better now! We have so many more fun interactions.

we are going on 2 years and hope to go for 2 more. He is not that whiny in the car but has been car sick. We still have one of those soft Brica mirrors, probably not necessary anymore but i think he likes looking at himself in the mirror and making faces so maybe that's why he doesn't whine so much?

We have not yet turned them around. I think that if I turn my 3 year old his brother will have a fit, so we aren't going to rock the boat for now.

Our seat needs to FF at 40 pounds, which I was hoping would get us past 2 years. Now we have a 18 pound 20 week old 
, and I am not sure when he'll hit the weight limit or what we'll do when he does (FF under 2 or buy a new RF seat with higher weight).

45lbs. He's not too bad generally but I always sit in the back with him unless driving and I really don't drive him long distances, just around town.

We switched at 21 months when LO outgrew the height markers on her seat. If she had been any younger I think I would've sprung for a new seat with higher limits.

We're still rf and hoping to til at least 2.5 or maybe even 3. She's pretty happy in the car though. My original goal was age 2 so now that we've passed that I'll turn her when she doesn't like rf anymore.

He's always been cranky in the car.
It wasn't the main reason we switched, but it was a perk. The main reason was that we drive a ford fusion and we just could not get him into his recaro seat anymore - it was so tight back there. He is 32 months and we switched him last week.

We turned at 2 when he outgrew the height and weight limits for RF (he's huge). I was skeptical, but it changed his mood in the car dramatically - he is SO much happier. Loves that he can see and keeps a running commentary of all the trucks and buses we pass.

We tried to hold out until 2 but we just couldn't because she would just scream the whole time. DH changed her seat around at 18 months and it made all the difference. DD2 is a much more mellow baby so we hope to leave her rear facing until 2

Just after our drive across country when she was 18 months. I considered keeping her rear facing longer, but decided to flip her then.

30 months. We switched him forward for a combination of reasons, including growing out of the seat and carsickness.
