With DD, it was around 2 months; with DS, it was super early, like 2 or 3 weeks.

7 weeks on the dot- at the mirror of his brand new play gym. I was showing my husband the new toy, and right then he broke into a huge smile at himself... we had been placing bets on who he would smile at first. We both lost- vain little boy, but at least we both got to see it!

I'm not 100% sure when they switched from gassy smiles to real smiles, but it was sometime around her 7th week. She started always smiling the when I put her on her diaper table, so I knew it was a social smile instead of something random. Sometime around week 9 or 10 she started smiling at me in response to my smiles, and when I make silly noises. That totally makes my day!

4 weeks
and now she does it ALL THE TIME!
she loves when we make a huge deal about her smiling... so she just does it more the more attention we give her!

@Mrsdaredevil: aww so sweet
It was two days before he hit 6 weeks. It was so amazing it made me cry. Bit he didn't start smiling all the time until 8 weeks

Our LO smiles in his sleep. I think it's
gas but I pretend they are real smiles. He's exactly 3
weeks today.

I would say 2.5 but closer to 3 months. He now LOVES to smile and talk to me after he eats. I love it!

Around 7 weeks. It was for me! But my husband got the first laugh last weekend at 9.5 weeks. He also started cooing a bunch right after he started smiling. He has whole conversations with us now. Its awesome.

M's was 16 days. Lala was more like 3 weeks. I remember feeling so rewarded when Lala started because otherwise she was kind of fussy.
