Talking about without the use of his/her arms (and without your help!) My son has been tripod sitting for awhile but not arms free yet (almost 6 mos).

I think LO started sitting completely unassisted around 6.5 months.

She started sitting tripod style but otherwise unassisted at 5 months. She was fully unassisted by 6 months.

She will be 5 months Sunday and is no where close.

LO is 6 months today. She would never sit still long enough for tripod style, but she can sit and play with a toy for a few minutes with the Boppy. Long enough to be distracted by another toy

LO can tripod now but when I try to get him to sit unassisted he suddenly realizes how awesome his feet are and dives for them. LO just turned 5 months. I think we are about a month away, at least, from sitting unassisted.

My LO is nearly 5.5 months and nowhere close. She can't even do the tri-pod sit.

LO is 5 months exactly today, and can do the tri-pod sitting for several minutes at a time; but then she will wobble and can’t catch herself. She can also sit up really well with minimal boppy assistance; especially if she is focused on holding (and eating, haha) a toy.
