I'm pretty sure E is a toddler now (even though she refuses to walk unassisted). I feel like I just woke up one morning and BOOM, I have a toddler not a baby.

When she became super independent I'd say around 14 months, she's 20 months now.

I considered her a full-fledged toddler when she started daycare at 12.5 months. She was walking and wasn't so babyish anymore.

I always thought toddler = when a baby starts toddling.
Toddling : (of a young child) Move with short unsteady steps while learning to walk.
LO started toddling a few weeks ago at 15 months. : )

T is 13 months in a few days and has been acting very toddlerish lately, tantrums included. He doesn't have many words, but he's trying to communicate with new "words" all the time (we don't understand it yet!) He's not walking alone yet, though.

Between 13 and 14 months.
Part of it was him learning to walk unassisted, and I think having DH home (he got back from an 8 month deployment when W was 13 months) made him more independent because he no longer only relied on me. And although he still isn't saying many words he suddenly signs A LOT so his ability to communicate has helped. When he looks at me and signs "more please" without me prompting him to I can't help but wonder where my baby went!

I consider my babies a toddler at 2 lol. They still seem sooo babylike from 1-2. And I definitely don't go buy walking since DS1 was 9.5 months and DS2 was 8.5 when they started.

I feel like when he turned 1. He is walking (inconsistently) and just more fun to play with. He builds with me and he tries to talk. I love this stage!!

Around 14-15 months when he started waking on his own, crawling less, and gaining independence.
