I havent paid much attention to this, but yesterday I was talking to my 7 month old and she started clapping. I got too excited and called DH over so she stopped. Afterwards we tried singing "if you are happy and you know it" and she immediately clapped at the right times. I tried it again this morning and everytime I sing it she claps! I am so excited by this. Now I am more interested in baby sign language

At 8 or 9 months I think. My baby didn't do sign language until she started really talking at about a year, although she picked it up really fast then.

Aww, too cute!! LO is almost at 8 months and she still hasn't clapped yet. I'm hoping it'll happen soon.

She started clapping around 6.5 months. I almost cried, it is so sweet.
@Mrsbells: We started sign language with LO at 5 months--nothing yet. Although she had a play date with a baby who can do "all done" and my LO started trying to do it, too. So cute.

He's not doing it yet, he's 6.5 months. I can't wait! I also can't wait for when he waves goodbye : )
