How old was your child when they could throw a ball? How about kick a ball?

I don't remember for sure but 18months - 2yrs she could throw and kick. She was much better at both around 3 though.

DS started throwing balls around 15 months. He started kicking around 18 months. There is no sense of aim for either activity though. yesterday he caught a ball (big handball type ball) for the first time. He was pretty proud of himself for that one! He's just over 19 months now.

@travellingbee: DD could throw and kick at about 17-18 months. She started catching around 21-22 months. She's great at all 3 now at 25 months.

Somewhere around 18-24 months for both.

Around 14 months for throwing, and 18 months for kicking, but she's not great at either yet at 18 months.

She can do both now at almost 15 months, but it's not at all consistent. I think doing so purposefully and with any sort of direction is a while off. We spend most of the day playing with balls - they're her favorite!

Maybe 14-18 months to just throw or kick? I do remember we were able to play catch last summer, he turned 2 that summer, with a ball and glove. It was sloppy tho! He is much better using a larger ball. So, I guess my answer is... it depends on the ball

My son is Weirdly obsessed with anything athletic and was definitely throwing balls by 12 months. He started kicking recently at 14 months.
