At DD's daycare they move the whole class at once at the beginning of the school year. So she will be ~3yrs and 4 months.
I am curious to see what she will "learn"!

Before her 3rd birthday. They work on writing their names and play a game where they have to find the letters in their name from a bunch of mixed up letters. They do a lot of spelling, Spanish and counting right now. In the daily notes they tell us what they are working on that day.

We're moving into the pre-school room at 2.5, apparently. Seems odd, but that's what they call it.

LO 1 moved up at 2.5 and LO 2 might move up soon (she is 2 yrs & 2 months) because her young toddler room is getting crowded.

LO moved up very gradually, starting around 2.5.
They have a different ciriculam every week, but they do a lot with numbers and letters, counting things (in fun ways), etc. they have a music lady that comes in once a week or more, too!

At our daycare they move them based on assessment of skills (verbal, social, etc). S moved pat 2 years 3 months. I was sad about it LOL.

Our daycare is a little different than US daycares. They have a 1-3 class and a 3-6 class. So "preschool" is the 3-6 class. My son started our current daycare at 3.5 so he was automatically in the 3-6 class, but they move other children up depending on ability and language (a few of the kids are not native speakers) so some move at 3 and some closer to 3.5.
