C will grab onto my hair or hand when nursing, but he doesn't reach and grab toys yet. When he's on his playmat or in the mamaroo he smiles and coos at the hanging toys/mobiles, but ends up yelling at them 10 minutes later. I think he wants to grab them, but gets frustrated that he can't!

My LO just started doing this a few weeks ago at 2.5 months. Now at 3 months (today!) he reaches for and grabs his toys a lot. He has a real interest in holding things though. He even holds his own bottle (with our supervision and a little help getting him started and tilting it at the end).

Around 10/12 wks I think... That's when his activity mat became a hit!

@Dr. Pepper: Ahh we should be close then! C is 2.5 months. If I put something in his hand he'll grip it, but no reaching and grabbing yet.

I want to say somewhere close to 3 months. I remember being so amazed because he could suddenly do it and got some video.

10 weeks. First grab was for Sophie.

Pretty close to 3 months. Now at 4months he's a grabbing machine!

She reached for a toy and grabbed it at about 8 weeks, but it seems to have been an isolated incident lol

She doesn't reach for things yet but C once got hold of my hair and pulled herself up with it a little. I was too impressed to mind the pain
