LO is 4.5 months and she can sit up for maybe 10 seconds alone, but then she throws herself back. When did your LO sit up on their own, unassisted?

somewhere between 7.5-8 month. He was a little late because he was more interested in being mobile!

At 6 months she could sit unassisted for some periods of time but did have lots of moments where she would topple. There were a few head bruises to show for it! At 7 months, she pretty much has control now. If she falls, it's because she is trying to go to a crawling position. At 5 months, she was sitting assisted and for a few seconds unassisted. At 4.5 months, we were probably trying to help her but she wasn't ready to sit yet.
(I love the fact that I documented these things so I can go back through my baby book and "remember"!!)

Just over 6 months. But be careful what you wish for; as soon as my LO figured out how to sit, he immediately figured out how to pull up and crawl. There was no cute sitting stage. He was just immediately mobile.

10 months probably. That was when I really started to notice how much my daughter lags in the physical milestones.

He's 5 or so months and can sit up for about 10 seconds and tri-pod for 15-20 before he tumbles over.

At 6 months he could sit very sturdily without me hovering or worrying he would fall. He started sitting unassisted for brief periods around 5 months.

5 months! She just started sitting unassisted this past weekend. She still topples over at times (usually backwards) or if she's reaching for something. It's so cute!

a few days after he turned 4 months. he's actually fairly steady & can sit up unassisted, but is very interested in whatever he can reach for, so he pitches forward quite a bit.

She was able to sit in a tripod fashion (sitting w/ hands on the ground for support) at 5 months. By 6 months she was able to sit upright easily without her hands for support.
