T is 4 months and sits well assisted but is so small! I dont think he is ready to sit up in his stroller yet.
What about your LO?

LO was able to sit up on her own at 5 months but was soooo tiny. She started to sit in it exclusively for outings (rather than using the car seat) when she was 8 months.

We haven't used her car seat with the stroller since she was 3 months old. it was the only way we could really get her to like the stroller. Now at 4 months she does great this way, although she looks very small. You should see how T does!

I was wondering the same thing. We use the car seat adaptor on his strollers.

@Mrsdaredevil: the straps are so high they are like straps on a roller coaster ride! but i know willa is petite too so maybe we should try

We started at about 3 months. I was a little nervous at first because he was tiny(for him lol) but he did really well with it

We didn't start using the stroller without the carseat until almost 6 months. He really looked uncomfortable without the carseat support until that age.

@winniebee: What kind of stroller do you have? We have an Uppababy Vista and LO can sit in it at 16 weeks (and has been doing so since about 10) at a very slight incline. We also use a Boppy "Noggin Nest" to kind of position her and it works really well!

We've been using our umbrella stroller for a few weeks now, so maybe 3.5 months? It reclines so we started out in a more reclined position, but during our walks when I have the shade pulled totally in front to block the sun (which doesn't let the seat recline so much) she's been doing just fine. Her straps go above her shoulders too but they seem to keep her in place quite well.

@meredithNYC: We have a Phil & Teds as well as a BabyJogger FIT (jogging stroller). Tried the BabyJogger last night and it seemed to big for him still. May try Phil & Teds again tomorrow though.

I have a HUGE baby and we put his upright in the travel system (by accident) around 3 months. He looks gigantic in there! Anyway it was probably too early and I never asked anyone but we did it.
We have already taken the head-rest thingy out of the car seat because he's too big.

We started a couple of weeks ago with Lily and she likes it so much better than the infant carrier!

I think 4-5 months? We didn't start using our umbrella stroller until about 6-7 months though.

@cvbee: so cute!! I think the babyjogger that I have is more upright/too upright.

We started putting DD upright in the jogging stroller at 4 months. I guess technically she is a little reclined actually... but she's fine being completely upright if we pull the adjustable recline all the way up. Of course, our daughter also recently started sitting up unassisted, just after 5 months of age. So you probably have to judge your baby a bit. I knew our daughter was already close to sitting completely unassisted, so I wasn't too worried about putting her upright in a stroller...
