I think Charlie was around 20 months, but we kept him in his crib for another 6 months because he was in his sleep sack. Then he was able to climb out with the sleep sack so we transitioned him to a normal bed.
Olive will be 2 soon, and she's so cautious I doubt she will try to climb out of her crib.... ever? At least not until she's 3! So she will probably be in her crib for a while (though it does transition into a toddler bed).

DD never tried! She, too, was too cautious. Even now in her big-girl bed, she doesn't try to climb out (she went through a phase in the beginning when she did but has since stopped)...In the monitor I can always see her peering over the edge but then she scrambles back and just waits for me to get her.

LO never tried to climb out of his crib, but we transitioned to using the toddler rail before he turned 2. He loved the freedom of getting in and out of bed. Of course that changed up our sleep schedule, and he never wanted to stay in bed! If I could do it all over again, I would let him stay in the crib longer before transitioning.

Same as @Rubies: he never tried, and he stays put in his big-boy bed until we come in, even though it's quite low and easy to hop out of.

DD started to crawl out after she had turned two, which is when we transitioned.
DS has already crawled out a few times, but we still could lower the crib. He first did it at like 14 months old. I'm really hoping that he waits until at least 2 and a half before he starts crawling out again...

19 months and he hasn't tried yet. He does like to climb into his crib (usually by climbing on me) but hasn't tried to get out. He stands there and waits for us to come get him. I wonder if/when he will try.

I hope not for a long time! He's almost 18 months and hasn't tried yet. He also wears a sleep sack so I hope that will hinder him from climbing out. I want him in the crib as long as possible.

We never gave her the chance, though I doubt she ever would, she's waaaayyy too cautious. We transitioned to a floor bed around 16 months when I got pregnant with #2. We didn't want to buy another crib and she's been doing great in her big girl bed.

We're at 18 months, and no attempts so far. Her crib is so low and the bars so high that she would have to be really strong to literally pull herself up and over. She also sleeps in a sleep sack which limits her mobility. I will cry the day she climbs out of her crib on her own.

Lala never slept in a crib so not a problem. M started climbing out at 16 months. We haven't transitioned yet, but we just got a mattress for her. Transition is imminent!

My son never tried! We transitioned him to a floor bed at around 18 months with a gate around it and he's tried to climb out of that but with no success. My daughter is a lot more adventurous so she may actually try to climb out of her crib. Oh boy.

My son never climbed out, it was more like he catapulted himself out, while wearing a sleepsack! It was around 20 months and he had decided that he was done with the crib.

DD tries every once in awhile, but she's still too small for any real damage. I'm anticipating her success in the next few months. Once that happens, we're putting the mattress on the ground. She's 15 months.

Surprisingly, at 20 months, she hasn't tried (that we can tell, but we don't have a video monitor). She's a dare devil and loves to climb, so I'm sure it'll happen soon.

@yin: that's good to hear - I keep thinking maybe I should try the toddler rail but I'm 100% positive that he would never want to stay in bed.
DS is almost 2 and has never tried, even though he's very adventurous and a daredevil about everything else.

She never attempted to. She's very cautious too. We transitioned her to a twin bed at 22 months so I'll never know if she would've.
I think DS will be a different story though!
