I thought 3 months which is why some kids have a 4 month sleep regression. I was told yesterday that 3 months is too early for teething.

3 months is possible but definitely on the very early side. My LO had his first teeth break through at 6 months.

LO had the traditional teething symptoms from 3-6 months. Hand gnawing and a drool machine. We went through about 15 bibs and multiple outfits per day.
Her first tooth didn't emerge until 13 months and to little fanfare. The "teething" stuff as an infant is just developmental as they get ready for solid foods: http://babyscience.info/whats-the-deal-with-baby-drool/.
Of course everyone draws their conclusions based on their personal experiences but I don't really "believe" in teething as this long, drawn out experience with lots of symptoms.
Here's some research on it: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/the_kids/2015/05/teething_symptoms_in_babies_are_not_as_bad_as_parents_think.html

She probably started the symptoms by like 4 months and first tooth came out at 6 months.

@daniellemybelle: amen. Would it be too passive aggressive to share that link on facebook with the hopes my SIL and her fam who give her LO several doses of Tylenol daily whenever she cries? /rant.

@MenagerieMama: No, it wouldn't... though I would maybe just send it to her directly! Any time I have wondered if LO was "teething" she was actually sick (usually ear infection) and that is what the article says is the case a lot of the time. So you could position it as concern that she needs to go to the doctor.

She's been a drool machine and gnawing on stuff since a little before 3 months but still has no teeth at 6 months (I don't believe she has been teething this whole time).

4 months (pedi confirmed) but they didn't officially break through until 5.5 months.

@daniellemybelle: did your LO have a fever with the ear infection?
My LO suddenly has horrible "teething" symptoms, stuffing her hands in her mouth and screaming etc. She has a cold now too and I'm
Wondering if she has an ear infection. She had a low grade fever a few days ago but no fever since.

My 3.5 month old has been teething for about a month. No teeth yet, but she does a lot of drooling, hand chewing, etc. Apparently, my brothers and I all got our first teeth at 3-4 months. Not typical, but possible.

@bluestriped bee: not too early. That's usually when the teeth decent into the gums. My first got 2 teeth at 4 months and my second got her teeth around 6,5m.

DS started showing teething symptoms around 3 months. The whole excessive drooling and hand gnawing. His first teeth came in around 5.5 months. Looking back he only exhibited real symptoms I think the week his teeth broke through. He was beyond irritable, whereas before it was just drool and chewing.
