I think LO really started it over the last few months (he's 22 now). It's currently being combined with the "mine" phase and it is not fun!

Probably around 18 or 19 months? But it wasn't really "no", it would just be whines.
Now at 3 years he is in a BIG no phase.. .but it's so much different than the first time around... he says "no" PURELY to be contrary and often follows it up with "anything", meaning "I don't want to do anything you say". So it's not just "no" to what you want from them, but it's "no" to ANYTHING you'd want from them any time in the near future. Ugh.

At around 17-18 months. She doesn't say no much anymore unless she means it now.

He started around 16 months and at almost 18 months he really means it now. He also does 'my' (mine) and it was cute at first but I'm so over it now

Also around 18-months! Then she went through a "Yes" phase around 2-years old... I really liked that phase haha... now it's back to a mix of Yes and No.

A little after a year. Shes 21 months now and doesn't say it nearly as much though it's still something we're working on.

Oh no! Not looking forward to this at all. We've been trying to not use that word, bit it is so hard to avoid! Right now he's just shaking his head no, we've also been saying "all done" but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later.

@mrs. wagon: DD just started her 3 year old no phase and it is so much worse than the first time! She screams no along woth "I'm not going to do that!" or "I'm going to do it anyway!" or her favorite, "That's not my idea!"

Oh how I feel for you! I don't remember when it started, other than after he turned 1. He just recently stopped and instead says, "I no wan it!" It seems the "no" thing doesn't stop lol.

Oh man. DS is 18 months old and hasn't started yet. I'm definitely not looking forward to that. He's already a stubborn little guy!

My LO is 9 months and is very actively shaking his head at everything. It's kind of hilarious. I am not looking forward to this stage going verbal.
