When did your LO start carrying around a security blanket or lovey?

Lo is 8 months. I try to give her a lovey but she doesn't want anything to do with it. She just wants her thumb!

LO is 1 and doesn't carry anything. She's not a thumb sucker either..

He started carrying around his blanket starting at around 1 year. Now he's obsessed about it.

She has a lovey but it stays in the crib. I don't let her carry anything around.

LO is almost 8 months and sucks her thumb (but only when she's going to sleep). She has a lovey that's in her crib but hasn't shown any interest in it yet.

RJ loves his blankie, but he's gone thru phases. He just started taking it randomly probably around 6 months...? And it was called the "magical blanket" by our babysitters and sunday school teachers because if he cried when we left, they'd give him the blankie and he'd immediately stop crying. So he was really into it for a while, but now he just uses it for sleeping.
