LO is 13 days shy of ONE and she isn't walking yet.
I have a feeling she won't be walking before her 1st birthday.

K started walking around 14 months (he's 18 months now). At daycare, some infants started walking around 10-11 months; others are 16 months and not quite walking on their own yet. I've heard anywhere between 12-18 months is typical.

Baby Bear is only 6 months, but the babies in her class at daycare who just turned one aren't really walking. They do if they hold onto things, but alone, nope. Thought that might help.

She took her first steps before turning 1 so I thought she was going to be full on walking by her birthday but she didn't until a little after.

13 months. She was scared of our hardwood floors. Once we figured that out, we put out a big mat for her and she started walking right away. I was so happy that I had a cautious girl!
I should say that our genius neighbor baby started walking at 9 months. He was fearless and got a few fat lips, but he's very physically advanced. Now he can jump and do all sorts of things that he shouldn't be doing at 17 months!

11 months. I "think" it's b/c he LOVED his walker so used it like crazy. Either that or he was determined to run after our dog to torture her.

DS is two weeks shy of 1 year and not walking. He can pull to standing against something, but still can't balance on his own yet. He'll take steps when I'm holding his hands, but I think its going to be a few months yet. (Thank gosh, because its already hard to keep up with him!)

Oldest son walked at 11 months but not consistently until 13 months. My twins walked at 8 months and they drove me crazy!! They were so tippy and wobbled around but they were determined.

Sometimes I'm anxious for lo to meet her milestones. But then I realize I'm in no rush. I feel like she can stay my baby a little longer without doing things like crawling.

Tomorrow? She took a few steps at 8 months but then decided she was scared. So now she's letting go of things and standing there and squatting. She almost steps and then she just sits down. Everyday this week I keep thinking tomorrow? It probably won't be for another month though.

DD is 14-months and just took her first steps last week. She can balance on two feet, but loses her balance a lot when she tries to move forward. I think she'll walk soon though.

@chopsuey119: I have 3 sisters and we all walked between 8 and 10 months. I don't count what my LO did as walking though, it seemed more like a happy accident more than purposeful, so now we're just waiting for her to do it again!

I started walking at 9 months, there's a kid in our neighborhood who's 10 months and has been cruising for about 2 months now and one of my other friends' daughter just turned 1 and started walking on her birthday.

My DD turned 1 last Sunday, she took her first steps the day right before she turned 1!! I was already writing off that she would walk before 1. But she literally just got up and took steps! She's been taking steps ever since!

My son didn't finally walk until 15 months. He was too cautious so it took a long time for him to finally let go of his hands.

12 months, I think it was because we had a change of environment at the time (visiting my parents) and he was curious.

We're just a week behind you all at 4/6/11
LO took three steps this past Saturday, but hasn't repeated the walking again. My guess is that he'll probably start really walking in about a month or so.
