I am so ready for the "put everything in my mouth and eat it" stage to be over! I can't even really give DD board books unless I'm holding her/it because she will eat all the cardboard! Every piece of my husbands sick fuzz on the floor? She eats it! My hair? Eats it.

Well, my LO still does it at 14 months!

My LO is 14 months and she's better than a vacuum cleaner when it comes to finding debris on the floor and sucking it up.

9 months and he still does it constantly. It's kind of funny, there's a little divot in a tile on our kicthen floor (tile is tan and divot is black) and he constantly tries to pick up the divot and eat it.....

LOL great question. My LO is 8 months old and loves to eat anything she can get her hands on. Last night while I was cooking dinner, she got a hold of a box and ate part of the top! No wonder she's stopped up....all that fiber....

Probably not til almost 2
but it's such a relief when they stop!!!

At 17 months my daughter mostly doesn't do it, but by no means is it gone.

@winniebee: That must be hilarious to watch!My LO is almost 9 months old and everything goes in the mouth. I accidentally dropped his frozen baby food (I make his baby food and then freeze) on our floor and DH freaked. I washed it off, and then I asked him why he was so freaked out, LO puts everything in his mouth anyway.

but not all kids go that long, of course!

They eventualy stop doing this?! DD's 2.5 and I still have to tell her not to eat stuff off the floor, to remove objects from her mouth, to take her fingers out of her mouth, etc...

LO stopped putting EVERYTHING in her mouth around 11 months...but at 15 months she definitely still puts LOTS of stuff in her mouth. She doesn't put any of her books or stuffed animals in her mouth anymore, but basically anything new goes in her mouth immediately. She can follow directions to take things out of her mouth, but if it's a piece of debris on the floor, she is super quick at putting it in her mouth so I have to watch her closely when we go somewhere new
