LO is a Florida girl so we try our best to shade her from the sun. But she's not old enough to realize that a hat and sunglasses are for protection, she thinks they're for eating and playing with.

We made it a habit to put on a hat on my son's head whenever we go out so he stopped taking it off at around 12 months. Before that, he hated it but we kept doing it. Now, he grabs it before we go out cuz he knows we won't take him outside without his hat on. I need to find a way to make him wear sunglasses though. He HATES it!

My LO has never wanted to wear sunglasses but she has always liked hats.

Have you tried the hats that strap on under their chins? There are also sunglasses that strap on to the back of their head, too. Strapping them on were the only ways we could keep sunglasses and hats on DD until recently. Now, at almost 2, she'll wear almost anything as long as she gets to pick it out herself.

I put hats and glasses on LO since she was 2 months old, so she's used to them!

Well, I don't live in a warm area so DS has only had to wear hats and sunglasses during the summer. At 2 he wanted to keep sunglasses on and finally, now at 3 he loves hats (baseball hats only though). But it was impossible to keep either of them on when he was under 2.

My LO will play with the sunglasses taking them on and off but won't leave them on if the sun is in her eyes. She does OK with hats.

The sunglasses have been a no go since we tried them last summer. Hats are hit or miss, he pulls them off regularly. The only ones he can't get off his head are the ones with a chin strap.

Ooo, I would love to know this, too. Baby Y is very anti-hat. Oh, and he also likes to pull his socks off.
